Just wait and get a factory sunroof. There is a reason GM has two different roof designs for the Camaro. One works with the sunroof, one doesn't.

With (notice the entire roof is flat):

Without (notice the reverse mohawk depression in the middle):

I think that's one for you to decide

It's a sick, and stupid fun car... are you willing to pay the extra premium to have it 7 weeks sooner?

How much is the shipping anyways?

Depending on where the car is located the fee shouldn't be more than $250.00 to truck it in, but I have had Mustangs swapped from dealers and they usually send some older retired person to get the car so no worries on someone beating the snot out of it.

I would say just have them do a swap, if the dealer is less than 50 miles away... if it is a 100 miles or more truck it in.

I have a good friend that had a sun roof added, he hasn't had any problems.

It shouldn't problem if the shop knows what they are doing.

I have personally seen one with an aftermarket roof and it looked like a total hack-job. It doesnt fit right and reminds me of those old crappy ones they used to throw in the cavaliers and sunfires to make them a "sunchaser special edition"!!!! Believe me, once you saw it you would be second guessing your decision until you sold it........which would also be an issue......depending on how bad it looks, it may affect future value!

They are calling me back any minute about the shipping price because I asked them a question about the GFX too. The reason it's a little difficult to find is because I want a 2011 2LT IOM with IO interior, auto tranny, sunroof, and RS PKG.. From what I have been told.. It's a difficult car to find on a lot with those options.. Apparently the dealer found an EXACT match more than 500 miles away from where I live. He also stated they charge by the mile to get the car here. I am having to share a car with my mom as of right now because my old car died on me.. So waiting 8+ weeks for the factory may not be my best option.. Plus if a dealer can find a EXACT match of the car I want.. Why not pay the fee for the shipping? Only thing different is it won't have the plastic wrapping on it and it may have a couple miles more than a factory ordered car would have.

CamaroScotty... Do you believe I have a good chance of having them pay the shipping fee to get it here?! If so. If you were me.. What advice would you give me so that I can get this car without having to pay a crazy shipping fee? I came up with an excuse that GM already adds a $850 fee for delivery.. Would that work or do you have a better suggestion?!

Dont do it........The roof in a non factory sunroof car is not designed or will work properly with an aftermarket roof. It is really not worth the aggravation it will cause. Just my 2 cents.

DO NOT DO IT.
I almost made this mistake.
The camaro has a support beam down the center, also the reverse bump down the middle will make it so that the moonroof will not be flush.

DONT DO IT DONT DO IT DONT DO IT

Even if was perfectly installed, didn't leak, was free.... that still leaves one giant problem.

Nobody in their right mind would buy a used Camaro with an aftermarket sunroof, so you just killed any future resale value of the car.

Don't do it. Order exactly what you want, it will be in before you know it.

Plus, depending on you height, the sunroof may kill your headroom. I'm 6 ft and no way would I buy a sunroof car. In the position I want the seat, my head rubs the roof. In a non sunroof car, plenty of headroom, even for a helmet.
