Takes a lot of money to keep those Igloos going. Remember we only got the the 24 hour clock in 2008 and they stopped the baby seal hunt in MOOSE JAW this winter.

Thank god I saved some seal fat from last year. I need it for my furnace. Hopefully we will get electricity before next winter

Great news! Now its time to put the money into where it belongs: a sleek, trim, modern, high quality and profitable product lineup mix.

QUOTE: UAW president Ron Gettelfinger revealed that GM and Chrysler may not need funding beyond the $17.4 billion already earmarked for the automakers.

I am just wondering when Ron Gettlefinger became the PR voice of GM? This certainly would be great news, but I want to hear it from GM.

+1

Personally, I'll believe it when I see it.

Have to agree with you. Hate to be a downer but GM's problems stem from lack of demand industry wide, People aren't buying because they are rightfully afraid of their economic future, thats going to get much worse in 2009. We have barely begun to see the effects of this crisis in the real economy, the next couple of years are going to be ugly for America and the world as a whole.

That being said I would still encourage all to buy and enjoy a new Camaro, they can't repossess the memories.

I'm not calling for his resignation, but consider this: He's had almost 10 years to react to GM loss of market share and respond accordingly. That's a large part of why GM is broke today. They may turn it around, but I think when it comes to shining, Wagoner's lamp went out a long time ago.

Quite correct. They said we will have more forclosures this year than last. Unemployment in Michigan is at 9.6% and the rest of the country looks to be trying hard to catch up to it. Alcoa just announced layoffs of 13,500 worldwide. That shows how far down demand for aluminum products is. This is a downward spiral and few people are going to have the money for new cars. Those who talk up an upturn in late 2009 are just trying to think positive.
