Yeah...not working for me either. Just go to 02Fbody, click on suspension and you'll see the subframe connectors. That'll give ya an idea of what they're talking about.

cool , oh and it's working again! lol

If you bought bolt-ons, do they offer more or less strength than weld-ons?

And, these things should cover you for about what? 600 hp; 600+/- lb/ft?

I think the weld on would offer more support and rigidity. I am not sure, though. I couldn't answer how much hp they would handle.

I only asked, cause you know, when are you pushing the limits on your cars frame? How would you know? I'd just as soon install the subframe connectors, as a precaution, even if it turns out I didn't need them...

BTW: I have to ask, all the times I've spoken to you, and I never thought to ask...

Have you ever dynoed, your car...if so - what's it's numbers with these mods.
AND
did you do the work yourself?

I've never dyno'd the SS. I was going to, but it our pull session got rained out three times in a row. When it finally worked out, I missed the event.

The mods are simple bolt on mods. There's nothing to them at all. The cold air intake was the most work. Some say you might not get anything out of it because you already have the ram air intake on the hood. I figured, what the hell? Why not have two cold air intakes?! I'll just double the amount of cold air going into the air box. Plus, w/ the cold air intake, you have to cut out the bottom of your air intake box right in front of the radiator. The cutting is scary...trust me! But, once it's all done, it's worth it.

The K&N, Lid, smooth bellows, and MAF went on in ... under a minute. You simply pop off the old stuff and air box and slap the new one on there. The car already came special ordered w/ the SLP dual/dual mod from the factory. The only other exhaust I would even think of trading this one for is the Loudmouth I. That exhaust is freakin' awesome!!! And no...I don't do exhaust myself if it has to be welded. I don't have a welder. I did install my last Loudmouth in about an hour and a half. Taking off the old one was the most work seeing as though I had to cut it by hand!!! That sucked! Yup...I have my saw-zall now. I could cut that down to less than an hour now.

Correct me if I'm wrong guys but this is my thought on RAM-Air. I've never been formally taught but here's my theory:

Picture a gaping hole where one of your headlights is, which is a hose going directly to your intake manifold. The faster you go, the more air is pushed directly into the manifold. As opposed to the manifold sucking air from the surrounding area. It's just a way to direct air to your intake.

Like the mustang has that functional hood scoop on the higher end models. It acts as a deflector to force air down into the air filter. Or on older cars, down into the carb.

So, on the "recent",(bad reference), F-bodys - it's just a funcional hood scoop?

I believe it it Dragon. Although they might have some other ducts on the side of the engine compartment that open to the side to catch air like a hood scoop on the sides of the car as well. I haven't owned or even seen the engine bay of an f-body so I couldn't tell ya.

Here's what I was talking about though:

Yes. It is functional. I have two "scoops." One on the hood and one below at the air dam (cold air induction).

And I was going to post pix, but just found that I don't have a single one from under the engine bay!!! I'll have to take some pix tomorrow...I just went looking for the camara to do it now and I can't find it. I'll get it tomorrow.
