Double parking is just a way to tell the world that "hey, I'm a douche. Please key my car, door ding it, whatever you want because in my world I'm awesome and you're just not. "

That's cool to get to park next to yourself like that! I am also a curb-hugger though, my Camaro would have got squeezed right next to that curb on the drivers side so anyone who does park on the other side can have as much space as they need to get in or out of their car. My neighbor always teases me that I should just put construction cones around it or one of those velvet rope and post thingy's to keep the riff-raff away.

i always park so far out that anyone who parks near me is doing the same as me...
but some lots are to small like this one so ya he got i wrong should have moved to the left to give as much room to the spot on the right. |

As for parking... IMHO... If I were parking...I would tend to hug the inside of the planter and give space towards the parking divider line so no one cruises in and opens their door out of spite. You are more open to vehicle damage taking two spaces then kissing the curb on the planter side and opening up the next parking spot. It is easier to defend your position if you had to go to court trying to collect. The other thing to think about...although I wasn't there and don't know the lot layout... TREES = SAP!!! I avoid parking under/around trees if at all possible. It doesn't take long. Also trees=bird poo! Get out the shotgun Martha! Again...just MHO. But it is all good.
