Ragbrai riders LOVE the Camaro

For those who don't really know what Ragbrai is, hundreds or thousands of crazy Iowans (and actually people from all across the country and a few other countries too) mount up on their bicycles and ride across the state of Iowa. My hometown of Indianola has the good fortune to be one of the stops for the riders this year (though really, this plus the county fair, plus the races just equals a traffic nightmare for us townies).

So coming into town after work I knew it was going to be a slow ride in. Sure enough a few miles outside of town traffic comes to a stop to allow a large group of bikers to pass. It was a fairly nice day out, so of course I had my windows down enjoy the weather. As the bikes were passing by I believe I counted about 5 people that said 'Hey nice car man!' or something to that effect. I smiled, waved, said thanks. Managed to get into town and stopped to fill up with gas, a guy came over to check the Camaro out. Told me how he'd like to get one if he can convince the wife. I told him to let her know the Camaro's have EXCELLENT safety features and crash test ratings (well nothing official that I know of, but good real world results thus far). It had rained earlier, so I had to wash her off (be darned if I was gonna show her off all dirty!)

As I was drying the car off in my drive way, a ton more people threw compliments my way. Looked up at one point from drying and there was an older guy on his bike doing a thought that was funny A bunch of people asked to check it out, I answered all the questions they had while they were drooling. Made sure they weren't misinformed

Looking back on it, I wish I would have asked my salesman for a stack of business cards, bet I could have got him (or at least GM) some sales that day! Speaking of which, salesman called yesterday to see how the car was doin. He said 'well, it is the first model year for the new models, so there tends to be issues. Just making sure you weren't seeing any!'

Love this car, and people's reactions to it are great (and even when there are a ton of these out there I'm still gonna love it just as much). Here's some photos of Candy (short for Eye Candy )

Mr. Brokinarrow....you sound rather full of yourself and your ride. LOL...jk. you are making me want to get mine sooner everyday i walk by Candy in the garage! i must say Candy is a saweet ride to be in.
