Since you are changing your oil for the first time, you are 100,000 miles away from needing to think about the transmission fluid.

Why do you want to change it?

I always like to get the break in fluid out of there after a 1000 or so. I have already changed the engine oil and will be doing the rearend soon. The trany was going to be my last one to change. I also wanted to make sure it has quality fluid in there.

I would never try to get 100K on my car before changing the trany fluid. I use to be a mechanic and I change all my fluids often. Everyone has a different idea on servicing your car.

Same here, ex-tech. You can take some solace in the fact that our tranny's have Dexron VI which is a synthethic blend so it can take the punishment!

I am going to change my filter at 10K and drain the TC as well if there is one....

Just turned 5K and out of winter storage I'm dropping that pan and stepping up to full synthetic Low vis AMSOIL ATF and synthetic power steering fluid this weekend. I use a Mityvac evacuator for other apps with no dipstick. Works like a charm and don't spill a drop of that precious fluid. I'll repost after its done.

I use one too for most fluid changes. But you may not be able to drain fluid from the TC with that procedure and will end up only removing approx half of the fluid. Not sure mixing those 2 fluids would be wise.... I have looked and don't see a drain plug on our converters so unless you hook it up to a power flush/fill machine or remove the TC and drain it you might want to stay with the same fluid until you do any trans work...

Just a thought...
