I used to drive a Toyota pick up in 1988 that had big side vinyl decals and at the high pressure rinsers a piece flew off like that. Vinyl is just not too durable.

I don't expect to get long life out of vinyl, hope to paint them eventually but right now they look good

I knew never to wax my stripes, I use Back-to-Black to keep them conditioned. I didn't know if it would get rid of the wax circles.... People's most common mistake is using soap every time you wash. If you keep a good coat of wax on the car you should hardly EVER need to use soap. Water and a soft sponge is more than enough to get stuff off the car to include bugs on the front.
