Sounds like your dealer might have been one of those unlikely a$$holes.

Sorry to you had to go through trouble with them...

yup my exhaust caused a rod bearing failure that was happening to stock cars with as low as 400 miles, not to mention subaru changed the design from brass to copper after they put out an anouncement of no such problem.. I LOVE SUBAJUNK!

this is from SLP website

NOTE: SLP Long Tube Header & Aftermarket Catalyst Disclaimer THE USE OF LONG TUBE HEADERS WITH AFTERMARKET CATS, POWERFLO-X CROSSOVER PIPES WITH AFTERMARKET CATS OR AFTERMARKET CATS ARE ILLEGAL FOR INSTALLATION AND USE ON EMISSION-LEGAL VEHICLES WHEN OPERATED ON PUBLIC STREETS OR HIGHWAYS. Any tune is a automatic no go. If you have a drive train failure the service department is required to scan for a tune and send the results to GM. It isn't even in the dealers hands.

This is where it gets tricky.. my car is tuned by SLP for my blower package and is still completely covered by GM as well as SLP.

Think of SLP as the same thing as GMPP. the 2 companies have been shaking hands since the 70s

I have LT's with cat's. ( no tune ) When I broke the tranny output shaft. The first thing they checked was the ECM. It was clean and they fixed it no problem.

There are cases of packages sold through dealers where there are exceptions, but when you talk about hooking up a DiabloSport or taking it for a custom tune like was mentioned previously in the thread GM washes their hands.

Here is a simple answer for you. If you are going to mod your car then know your warranty will be in question. If you care about your warranty then don't mod your car. These cars are so easy to work on. I bought the car and want power and sound. If something happens then I will pony up and pay for it. Its as simple as that.

100% incorrect. Aftermarket supercharger and aftermarket calibration = blocked powertrain warranty. SLP has nothing to do with GM, they are 100% aftermarket. They were a supplier in the 4th gen SS, nothing to do with the 5th. SLP offers their own warranties.

Maybe your particular dealer hasn't reported the modifications yet, but show up at another dealer with a powertrain problem and I doubt they would cover it. Most likely would report it as the bulletin requires of them.

i will show you in my contract which states lifetime powertrain warranty from my dealership with my blower as well as 5 years from slp. call pinegate chevy in lakewood nj and ask for jason. hell tell u how incorrect it is.

as long as you have an authorized GM or SLP shop install and as long as they are genuine GM or certain SLP parts (in my case being there stg 1 blower package with x pipes and LMII.. its fully covered by pinegate chevy. now other dealers im unsure of but SLP says its still warranted at other dealers

also SLP makes there ZL cars sold right from the dealerships with FULL gm warranties. there stg1 blower is the same mods as the zl585. so your telling me people who buy the ZLs get no warranty from GM and only through SLP .. hmmmmm i think not. so if you buy a ZL585 in california you have to have it shipped to Toms river NJ to get fixxed. or they are going to send a SLP rep out to check it out for coverage?? hellll nooo.. GM and SLP are still partners in some ways. watch the video on youtube below about the zl585 it says right in it that IT STILL KEEPS THE FULL GM WARRANTY...
but im still 100% wrong even tho i live in the same town as SLP, bought my car through a chevrolet dealer, CHEVY DROVE MY CAR TO SLP TO GET MODIFIED, and gave me a rental impala for the 3 days while it was on the dyno, and i have it in contract form that i have a GM warranty and a 5 yr SLP warranty for powertrain.

0:40 - 1:03 and 3:45

would you like to retract your statement of me being wrong now? and please add sources for your argument. thank you!

like i said, i have the car, i have the parts. THE ONLY REASON I GOT THE CAMARO OVER THE 5.0 WAS BECAUSE OF GM ALLOWING SLP MODIFICATIONS. so trust me I did my homework before i spent the 55K

This is the kicker.

When you had that stuff installed, you lost your factory GM warranty and replaced it with a SLP warranty. This thread is not about an aftermarket companies warranty but about GM's warranty.

SLP ONLY GIVES YOU A 5 year warranty which you buy for 795 if you want.. You still keep your GM warranty.. why would i lie about this?
for buying my car thru Pinebelt chevy i got a lifetime powertrain warranty that is still carried over with my SLP parts. Again I have it in contract form signed by my sales manager. his name is jason if you wanted to call Pinebelt chevy lakewood NJ

And even the video says "full factory warranty." and "GMs Full blessing"

as soon as i get to a scanner ill end this debate..
