does it grind or just hard to shift?

Do not trade as you will get hosed. Call a dealer and talk to service mgr. Take it to to one that is reponsive to the problem.

I would change to a better syn trans fluid I did a swap with Amsoil and she shifts so beautiful even in 20deg temps last week.

Did you have the 1-2 shift problem before the change to Ams?
