So does GM purposely pick morons as dealers? Did these guys not pass grade 3 reading in public school?

I think the salesmen at dealerships only have to be good at one thing, closing the deal. No need to bother with pesky information and facts, just know how to push peoples buttons to buy that new car. I believe most of John Q Public goes into a dealership not know what kind of car they want, and the salesman push something on them.

The users of this forum are not typical car buyers, and should simply find a dealership where they are treated with respect. Eventually these uninformed salesmen and dealerships will be out of work and close. Eventually even John Q Public will start informing themselves before major car purchases, were just not there yet.

GM doesn't pick their dealers. They chose who gets what, sort of. Speaking of dealers . . . the closest analogy that I can think of to describe their relationship with GM is that dealers are parasites. They are a separate entity but they are dependent upon their host. Some are harmless, a few are beneficial. But a lot of them will suck the life out of their host.

The truth about the delay is they are all going to government employees. The current stimulus package has allocated 600 million dollars for automobiles. In the recent loan GM received, the agreed to allocate the first 10000 Camaro's to the Federal Goverment. So, I am afraid it may be a year before we get ours.

If your dealer sells 1 or 2 cars a day, they will be getting about 1 SS a month. That is how it seems to be working out since the calls have been going out this week for dealers to tag the first cars. Do not confuse that with how the allotment process was determined.
