Voltage screen could be deleted cause you have Aux. Gages?
I also have the coolant temp, volts, tire pressures, & oil life in that second menu screen.

If I can believe that the guage is linear (which it clearly ain't), mine always hovers at or slightly below 15V (the 3rd white mark). The guage markings are 9 [red], white, 12 [white], white, 19 [red]. I should be able to whip out the DMM in the next day or so...

I know that in the colder winters, my TA would start charging pretty high, and eventually back down with driving to around 14-ish.
Sounds about where mine is running 15 to 15.3
Do you guys think that is a little high?

I have never seen voltage this high either, but if you guys are running the same, I guess I'll skip my trip to the dealer.
This is good info, another LS running the same voltage. Maybe because the battery is cold during winter driving.
Skuttduck is running 13.8 - 14.3 base on his posts (2Lt)?

I wish I had that gas mileage! Mine always hovers around 20.5. M6
That mileage reading is all highway after I zeroed the readout while at highway speed. Around town I also get 20 - 24 mpg.

15V is perfectly fine, and common for newer vehicles.

My '08 Silverado also produces 15V, which drops to about 14V when measured at my camper connection (so I'm glad the alternator produces 15V, or my camper battery wouldn't charge).

Newer vehicles use more electrical power which must be replenished by higher amperage alternators. Forcing more amps into a battery requires a higher charge voltage or lower resistance cables (which weigh more and cost more).

Checked mine during a long road trip and it was always in the 14.8 to 15.3 range the entire way from Hillsboro oregon to Blanchard Idaho its about 6 hours and I never saw it go below 14.8 dealer guy said that's what it will show when the engine is on since the engine will constantly try and charged the battery while engine is running this is normal do not worry if it goes below 12 when engine is running battery might have a problem

BTW, I had voltage of 14.8 14.9 on the drive home today.

On the longer drive out to a guys house I was running about 13.8.

It handled admirably on the snow with the Pirelli scorpion ice and snow tires. I also got to try it out on pure ice. Lets say that with a slight incline and pure ice the car goes nowhere. I had to backup and get momentum.
you have faulty dic!..it's definitely NOT you!

Mine is an earlier build 2010 with the GM chicklets and the in dash ambient light plugs. Maybe I just need an upgrade.

Though I do think that it probably has to do with the 4 pack gauges being installed.

Okay, now that I've royally misspelled "gauge" (at least I was consistent), I took some DMM readings under the hood today (70 degF ambient):

12.48V - 12.50V, Car off ~18hrs
15.05V - 15.10V, just after starting car
14.50V - 14.88V, after 1 hour of errands/before final shutdown

I think the ambient temp has a lot to do with it; colder weather requires more severe charging unless/until the battery has warmed up enough to take a charge. As long as you are above 12V charging, and less than 16-17V, you should be good to go.

This could be why the volts are so high. You loose some amps through the cable to reach the battery in the trunk.
Maybe a member could measure the charging volts at the battery in the trunk. Too much snow here today for me to do it.

I have been worried about my battery as well though i am on the opposite end of the volts.

1SS here 9000miles no electrical add ons - heck do not even have the BA system. The car has a consistent 12.5 to 13.5 running - occasionally after start up it will go to the low 14's but not for long. Normally i am in the high 12's. I have been keeping a close eye on it for a couple of weeks now and it is always the same.

Looks like i might have a problem.

well i'lk add mine.......i was driving my L99 yesterday noticed the analog gauge was low stopped home kept car running voltmeter said 12.6,,,,turned car off called dealer to see if normal then started my car now it says 14.3....reason i have been monituring this is because i lost the immobilzer memory which sux, cause your wont start and you need it towed, dealer re-learned immobilizer and it is fine ,but they said it could have been a drop in voltage

My 2013 2LS voltage displayed 15.1, 15.2. I had the battery checked and it was Ok. I bought a new battery anyway and now it reads 15.2, 15.3. These readings are at steady driving. Both are AC Delco batteries from the dealer. The only time I got it into the 14 volt range was when I turned in the lights and other accessories.
