(updated with pics)How many Charging volts does your V6 run.

Car runs great, but as I go through the DIC menu and check the volts, I am always running 15.3 - 14.8. Even after a 1/2 hr drive.
On the older cars that would be considered high and an overcharge situation.
Just wondering if that's normal and what everyone else is seeing?
Probably just spinning my wheels.
I plan to put my digital ohm meter on the terminals under the hood next time I start it up to see if the gauge is flaky.

OK, so does the radar detector agree with your DIC dash readout?

I've never done that on the DIC before. I'll be more than happy to look at it on my 4 mile drive home.

Thanks, do you ever see 15 volts on the detector?

I couldn't find it on the DIC. Is yours a 2011?
Was it on the HUD?

Anyhow I never see 15 on the radar detector. 14.1 to 14.3 is where it runs at while driving.

It is in the second menu screen, you have to press the button on the turn signal stick facing you, then scroll through the screen. (The tire pressures are here also).(

I still couldn't find the damn thing in the DIC.

BTW, I had voltage of 14.8 14.9 on the drive home today.

On the longer drive out to a guys house I was running about 13.8.

It handled admirably on the snow with the Pirelli scorpion ice and snow tires. I also got to try it out on pure ice. Lets say that with a slight incline and pure ice the car goes nowhere. I had to backup and get momentum.

On the DIC all you do is press the Menu button on the turn signal stick, then use the outer roll switch to scroll through the second menu.

OK I made some readings before taking the car on a long drive yesterday.
12.1 volts standby voltage (car off).
14.7 volts upon starting the car then it slowly creeps up to almost 15.4 volts.
15.3 steady volts while making 3 different trips 30 - 40 mins. each.
15.0 volts after driving the car all day multiple places almost 2 hrs total.

Car volts always ran high about 14.7 volts since new but not this high. Maybe I got a bad battery from the factory.
My voltmeter agrees with the dash readout.
I wonder if I got a bad battery and the BCM is constantly trying to charge it.

Anyone with a 2010 Camaro that can give me what their voltage readings are?

I kid you not, my second menu with the tire pressure does not have the battery voltage. Your fuel economy is better than mine. Mine is mostly city but I have been getting average of 20.8 and it went down from 21.1 from around Christmas.

Where the Battery Voltage is based on the line at the bottom, mine says Engine coolant, and gives the temp.

I've tried pressing set/clear to see if it would change and it doesn't.

I am thinking the confusion may be a 1LS versus 2LT thing. I don't have voltage on my DIC either, but I suspect that is because the RS has the 4-pack guages. If I can believe that the guage is linear (which it clearly ain't), mine always hovers at or slightly below 15V (the 3rd white mark). The guage markings are 9 [red], white, 12 [white], white, 19 [red]. I should be able to whip out the DMM in the next day or so...

I know that in the colder winters, my TA would start charging pretty high, and eventually back down with driving to around 14-ish.

Mine is always around 15 as well. Never settles below 14.8. I was going to make a thread asking about it tomorow as I have never seen voltage this high on any car unless something was wrong.

OP, mine reads the same range 14.8 - 15.3

I wish I had that gas mileage! Mine always hovers around 20.5. M6
