Auto Indexing windows?

Has anybody had any trouble with the windows doing their auto indexing move when you open the door and the windows are frozen shut. The last two mornings do to ice storm the windows were frozen shut but the window regulator managed to overpower the ice. I know this is not good as I have ruined at least one regulator in other vehicles that I have owned. Has anybody broken anything yet? I have a M6 otherwise I would just do a remote start and watch them melt.

def not good for them. might want to keep a scraper in the trunk so you could scrape the ice off first to protect the motors...

Yeah, get an ice scraper. Don't make your car do all the work, man.

I always take the time to scrape off the ice on the windows. The car doesn't make a happy sound when the windows attempt to index with ice all over them.

Not so much the ice on the windows but the weather strip frozen to the glass. No garage and I bought the car to drive sun, rain and snow. Plus my truck is at the dealership were I bought the car still for the really crapy days hope to be delivered back to me soon. Just looking for ideas to provent the glass form freezing to the strip I guess? Anybody?

They make an auto start for manuals now. Viper makes an alarm for manuals.

Auto starters are universal.. they are just illegal because if its in gear the car will launch. If you know how to install it yourself u just leave it in neutral and ebrake it up and ur gtg, unless you can find somone to install it but they take a large liability.

I have replaced a few window motors at work because of the auto index... there is a bulletin on replacing the motors because the windows lose index or won't index at all. Not sure if this is your problem or the fact that it is just the ice on your windows.
