GM is not pulling anyones chain with these items.
1) You have a licensed company already making these parts.
2) The "other" before mentioned company got caught selling without permission, it not the best situation to ask after that to get the permission. Doesnt work very well.
3) We have a mill and are going to be making front grill emblems.
4) Why Defender Worx does not make them, I have no idea. Probably something they have planned as well.

Selling these without permission is a big problem for the person who gets caught. Just a public service announcement. It's also the reason we do not sell them yet. However in all fairness we have not tried to do it yet. But we will be submitting them within the next month or so. Unfortunately you are correct, it can take a good length of time to get approval. Our batches of parts have been in the 6 month plus range the past few times. And we are familiar with the process.
No one on this board should be surprised that GM does visit this forum. This is the kind of thread that gets attention. I know thats the objective but...........

Thanks, Roger

Now that you mention it, I think is what pisses me off the most. Oh well. I just wish things can move forward quickly so we can all be happy.

Wow I hadn't seen all of the drama from emblem licensing before seeing these comments and checking out the forum history on the subject. Didn't know they were so hard to come by without making yourself :|

Yep,

There is a long history for sure. And like you said, a litte searching shows it.
Unfortunately the company that was caught doing the copyright infringement, had a very good design. I do not claim to know everyting that happened with them, because I do not. Just like you, I read all of the threads, and it did not seem to be very good.
The other thing the search should have shown is that there are at least 50 opinions on what this piece should look like.

Anyway, thats all I've got for now.

Thanks, Roger

Got an update with a new machined piece. This time we put the bend in the middle to fit the cusp of the heritage grill. Also extended the bottom corner of the right hand S and beveled material on the LHS to give the oblique look.

Going to be finishing this one with epoxy resins soon. Will post more pics then.

Here it is with resin finish, only thing left is to do some final polishing and make a mounting bracket!
