the thing that interest me the most is the E85 V6 330hp rumor for 2012. I just hope that its only a rumor because I just dont want to regret that I should have waited because I am kinda already regretting that I just didnt go with SS or BMW 135 twin turbo.

Well last year this time, several media outlets reported this:
Quote:
Citing an unnamed GM insider, Edmunds reports that the 2012 model year Camaro will get a “substantially reworked interior.”
Apparently the insider wasn't too reliable...

I think most of what we're hearing is Boston Market

i.e. unsubstaniate rumors. "Overheard it from a guy when I was at a Boston Market" It's a football board term.

...shouldn't be much more because we have all seen the ZL1 which is a MY 2012 so it should have the same interior...what sense would it make to have 2 vastly different interiors on different trim levels of the same model year car? What the steering wheel will look like is still in question by most everyone outside of Chevy/GM.

The car was then again spotted in Arizona (somewhere around there) with a few other test mules. They MIGHT be for the American market (i hope not) but it never said anywhere that they were or were not a 100%. As many will agree the dumbo mirrors and sunglass tail lights are pretty much awful on the car, for the most part. As for the interior they have rumored of MINOR interior styling changes but it hasn't been confirmed as of yet either. I think it's already been established that those mirrors and tail lights were for european specs.

A bumped up E85 330hp V6 would be nice but I haven't seen anything from anyone that would substantiate this rumor.

But we will find out sometime in May.

What exactly is the following:

Suspension system special ride and handling (FE4)

I don't know what that entails, but while looking have also read somewhere that it is already available as a GM Performance Part?

Basically, each gen gets a ten year run with a minor update 1/2 way through. I know there is talk of a 6 gen in 2016, but I don't expect to see that until 2020.
Not necessarily. The Mustang and Camaro have pretty much followed similar generational cycles. While the Camaro was the late comer in the first generation, redesigns for both of the cars have typically occured within a couple of years of each other, mostly so that later company can compete with the other.
In 1969, we got the second generation Mustang, albeit it didnt see any major body reworking until 1971, coincidentally only a half of a year later than the 1970 Camaro (introduced in February of 1970). Rumors had it that the 1969 Camaro body style was supposed to be carried over into 1970, but GM wanted to beat Ford to the punch and released the new body style early.
In 1993, we got the 4th generation Camaro, with the 4th generation Mustang coming only a year later in 1994. In 1998, the 4th generation Camaro got a face lift, as did the 1999 Mustang.
While it could be argued that because the Camaro was out of the market for 9 years, it should have a longer shelf life. While valid in a sense, that didnt stop GM from moving onto the second generation Camaro 3 years after the initial release of the car. There were a number of underlying factors to that (such as having John DeLorean as a higher up in GM and wanting to give the Camaro its own independent platform), but this is no different. The 5th generation Camaro is running the heavy Zeta platform, sacrificing weight for styling. With the ATS coming out in a few years, it would be easier to run that platform on a few other cars to cut down on production costs. If memory serves, its also going to the CTS, but why not run it on a Chevy too?
I think that its already been reported that we are going to see the new Alpha platform Camaro in 2014/15 as a 2015/16 MY car, but given that would put the Mustang at the end of its ten year cycle, and that in the past, GM moves to let Ford set the standard in order to beat it, its more than likely that we wont have to wait until 2020 to see the next iteration of the Camaro.

Car companies can't afford to sit on a model for 10+ years anymore. They have to raise their game faster than that. Not saying we won't have some tweaks or cosmetic changes over the next couple years, but it is widely believed that sometime between the 2014 and 2016 model years that the Camaro will ride on a new platform. This will be the big change....and again no way they can wait until 2020 to do a significant change.

I believe the Mustang is committed for the 2014 model year. So it's probably a good move on the Camaro to wait a year after that for the Gen6 to size up the latest Mustang.
