So, this is the harness that plugs into the factory HVAC connector and then into the back of the Metra face. If you notice the pink wire in the middle, with the bullet connector - that hooks up to another wire running off the Metra box. Without this hooked up (kinda takes some muscle to push in) the HVAC controls act screwy. Also, make sure the black end of the pictured plug is fully seated into the Metra face. It takes a boot of oomph to push in there until you hear the clip engage.
May not be your issue, but worth taking a look into. Furthermore, after reading this thread I decided to go have a looksy at my install. I didn't notice this before, probably because I wasn't looking, but the passenger seat heaters wont turn on unless someone is sitting in the passenger seat. You push the button, the icon pops up, and vanishes in a second or two. Last edited by gill7784; 05-22-2012 at 05:34 PM. |

LOL, i just looked at my harness again, and the pink wire is labeled "phone mute". They must have just used whatever spare wire there was laying around, because that harness has absolutely nothing to do with the phone. The other wires are also labeled with stuff like "let positive" and "12v battery constant".

I made the same mistake. If you look at the harness pinouts though it is a data connection.
