Sounds like it might have an intake manifold issue

Do some serious searching. 6-8 months back (I think) someone had a similar issue. If I recall correctly, there was either an o-ring or gasket that came loose in the intake manifold allowing the engine to suck oil directly into the intake from the oil galley or passage under the intake. A few people came forward saying they had the same issue............hopefully one of them will see this and chime in.

It was the valley cover causing my oil issue.

Mine was a qt low at my last oil change. Was going to wait and see what it was on this upcoming oil change and go from there.

Got a call from the dealer. Tuesday they are taking it in and doing a engine teardown. I guess that was the word they got from GM. They said it will be done in 5 days because that is what the rental car is good for?? Isn't that a little quick to tear an engine down, see what the problem is, and rebuild it? Do you guys think I can have a new clutch put in while the engines out? Hopefully, I can just buy the parts and there will be no labor charge.

Check your warranty in your owners manual.

Courtesy Rental Vehicle
Your dealer may arrange to provide
you with a courtesy rental vehicle or
reimburse you for a rental vehicle
that you obtain if your vehicle is kept
for an overnight warranty repair.
Rental reimbursement will be limited
and must be supported by original
receipts. This requires that you sign
and complete a rental agreement
and meet state/provincial, local, and
rental vehicle provider requirements.
Requirements vary and may include
minimum age requirements,
insurance coverage, credit card, etc.
You are responsible for fuel usage
charges and may also be
responsible for taxes, levies, usage
fees, excessive mileage, or rental
usage beyond the completion of
the repair.

I see nothing in the owners manual concerning a time limit on rental cars for warranty work.
If they have the parts available, there is no reason that a tech that knows what he's doing can't tear down and put together an engine within 3-4 days or less.
Providing they don't pull him off your job for another job.

Should be plenty of time to do new pistons/rings. I would go for the clutch but dealers usually still want to charge book rate even if it is no extra time.

I was checking out the warranty and the rental rate is $35.00 a day and the max is $280 if its a special situation? Seems this might be.

Just pistons and rings and of course gaskets where needed. I doubt bearings...there should be no need.
