I had a noticeable sound change when I added the solo hi-flow cats and when paired with the shorty headers, had a 27 rwhp gain (which most of that was the cats). Solo relocates the o2 sensors back. I've had no CEL come on and no warranty issues.

I think you guys just talked me into getting high flow cats. Now I have to research SOLO and JBA.
Also I installed my MBRP exhaust myself. Will I be able to install the high flow cats? Any welding or anything special to avoid a cel???? I am cheap but willing to buck up for better high flow cats. SOLO or JBA? Guess I will do more research. Thanks ladies. LOL

What high flow cats did your friends put on? L99 and MBRP 3" catback myself.

FYI.

I love my setup.

Airaid CAI
KOOKS LT headers 1 7/8"
KOOKS High Flow CATS
Magnaflow #16483 3" CAT BACK COMP exhaust

Good deep rumble and down right rude at wide open throttle. Sounds good without being annoying or having that "clap" that a lot of people go for.

But again, this is what I like. Everybody is different.

Dosin, I dont think the install would be to tough but a local shop only charged me 80 so the chance of me breakin a o2 sensor was worth spending the 80 and have it in their hands. I think the worst part is dealing with the sensors the pipes themselves fit great from what they told me.

And as far as I know the big difference between the two was that SOLO will definately not throw a cel where I've heard the JBA might but some have had good luck with them as well I just wanted the extra insurance for warranty issues.

Will high flow converters make much difference on sound or is it a waste of money? Thanks for the help.
installing headers wont void your warranty. Doing the ECM tune in order to properly adjust to ECM to accept (or ignore I should say) the new location of the rear O2 sensors WILL. ARH's "Short system" and Dynatech are top quality headers that will bolt directly to your MBRP catcback AND COME with high quality high flow cats.

I went with the JBA high-flow cats and the next day I had a CEL (most ppl that have JBA said its a 50-50 chance to get a CEL). I talked to SOLO and the said they garuantee you wont get a cel, unless you install them wrong. So if you really dont want to see a CEL I would just pay the $200 differance between JBA and SOLO and buy a set of SOLO high-flow cats. There is no welding required of any sort for eigther brand, straight bolt on.

So the ARH Short Sytem with Hi Flow Cat's will NOT void the warranty??? Will it create issues with the CEL?

good question....does arh offer shortie headers? not sure. if u want to keep the warranty, i would go with just the solo hiflows. they say ur good with warranty and pick up power too..

ARH Short System are the Long Tube Headers and High Flow Cats without an "X" Pipe. I already have the "X" pipe with my Borla ATAK.

I can see your frustration. I listened to a lot of different combinations at Camarofest. So I'm starting with some SLP II's and after that, I'm thinking about some long tube headers.

Good luck with your cats.
THIS!!!

YOU have to be happy with how your car sounds. I wanted to have a nice gurgle to my car, almost like it sounded like it had a cam. For me the only way to get the sound I wanted was with Long Tube headers and a Cat. delete. Losing your exhaust warranty for me was no biggy, since if anything stock breaks, I can always buy something better. Just know that installing headers/exhaust CANNOT void your engine/drivetrain warranty. Unless you REALLY jack something up on the install.
