except gearing wich will give the GXP an edge

We can do 0-60 getting on the freeway though ....

Easy way to compare our cars....
It's a good benchmark for sure, I just think the 1/4 mile deserves more credit than it's given. The 1/4 shows more of a cars true potential, power wise anyway. I think they compliment each other, with 0-60 you only get half the story. Look at the AWD cars that have super low 0-60 times, but mediocer 1/4 times. All that traction with no power = decent e.t. with low mph. I guess you could say the opposite of a car that has high hp and can't get off the line without roasting the rear tires. But that would be shown too with a high e.t. and high mph. I wish the mags would publish 60ft times with their 1/4 miles times.

Also the mainstream mags do their 1/4 testing on a straight section of road or road course. They rarely use an actual dragstrip and definitely don't use VHT, which is a big reason why consumers that can drive get better times out of the cars when they go to the track.

Yes, but I'm pretty sure the Camaro has the weight advantage...It should make them extremely similar

I realize modern muscle cars are capable of getting well above legal speeds in the 1/4, but I don't think I've ever found myself in a race that ended before 60mph, except against a few ricers.

So why all the attention on 0-60?

(mods if this is in the wrong section, please move it, thanks)
i think its because most races are stop light to stop light and thats not always a 1/4 mile.
