I was planning on ordering a 2010 model (the GTO will be paid off by then ), so I don't mind waiting for the SS.

I really want a Z28...the name speaks to me, you know? But depending on how things pan out, I will probably wait for whatever is top...under the 31,000 limit Lutz expects...besides, I can't get ANY version untill 2010 safely, so "makes no nevermind to me"

I would rather have the Z28, even if it were second to the top. I can't quite describe why, but like Dragon, I'm gonna have to wait till 2010 or later anyway.

A Z/28 would be good enough for me, I'll just be 18 when I get a new camaro. 550HP would be a killer insurance rate, and im not a big fan of supercharged car. Give me a 350-400HP Z/28 and im happy, and for the extra money I would be forking out for insurance, gas, and the MSRP price of the SS (ZL1), I could turbo a Z/28 and save some money.

I'll wait for the SS. If it's 6 months, will be alright, if it's 1 year, it's gonna really piss me off.

then, depends on the price and a lot of things.

I mean, I was, once upon a time, planning to buy a mustang, as a cool "transition" car waiting for the camaro. IT wouldn't be a problem not to have the top dog.

But I'm planning to keep my camaro forever (or until bankrupt), so, i wanna get the SS

THERE WILL BE NO HI-PO CAR AT LAUNCH.

THERE WILL BE AT LEAST 12 MONTHS BETWEEN THE RELEASE OF THE CAR AND THE RELASE OF THE HI-PO CAR AND THE VERT.

End of Story guys.

Doesn't matter to me. Will be at least 2010 before I pony up the cash to drive one off the lot

UM i think your caps lock is broken you can probably get a good deal on a keyboard here newegg.com

and i still dont think they will launch without something to compete with the GT500 since it is already out and has been for quite a while.

I've heard they would be making the V6 versions first since they would sell easier and faster. But, how do we know FOR SURE that the hi-po editions will come out a year after the release of the V6?

That, and every GM exec that has been interviewed on this car has said vert Within a year of coupe release - i.e. less than 12 months

That would make no sense. Where's the proof of this? So are you seriously going to tell us that with over two years since they got the green light to go into production they can't get a v-8 ready by 09? The vert I know won't be ready till 2010, but everything else? I doubt it.

Ok. You and I know we have heard every press release and seen just about every vid there is to see on the VERT being released a year after the Camaro. I'm asking how he knows that the hi-po (possibly LS3 or whatever other V8's the have in store) version will be released a year after.

Right now, it's Camaro in dealers at the end of 08/beginning of 09. The vert a year later. Where does the hi-po V8's come into play here? Between the end of production of the V6's and the verts? And how do we know this for fact??? That's all I'm asking. It really doesn't make a differenct to me since I won't be able to get mine until about late 09 anyway.....but for everyone elses knowledge......
