well I spent $80 on a 6 ft roll of matte black vinyl from a local place - unfortunately they don't really do custom work - and I really want to do this! It would be really hard to justify spending $400 on it so I'm going to try it tomorrow.

Any tips on how to get the vinyl to shape properly so I can get the whole one-piece application?

Well to be honest it's going to be extremely difficult. I wouldn't even attempt it if you can't get it precise. It has to line up flush with the whole lip of the bumper to look good and to get it into the tailight "holes" you have to make a precise cut so that they touch just flush but don't leave a gap or overlap.

Feel free to try, but to be honest if I had tried it I would of given up quickly, just to difficult unless you have done LOTS of vinyl applications.

RiderGraphix has an LS7 Blackout kit for the front and rear fascias. It's not quite as pricey as custom work, but it seems like a lot for vinyl.

I went with the front blackout and just a rear deck blackout rather than the full LS7-style rear fascia treatment.

I wouldn't try this at home unless you have your own graphics shop. I'm pretty sure they use computers and a stencil machine that cuts the shapes onto the vinyl precisly. You could get some tracing paper and tape it to the surfaces of your trunk and rub on the edges with a pencil to get an outline of the surfaces. Take the tracings to your vinyl and try to cut out the pieces with an exacto knife. I still wouldn't try it.

Big Worm has the front and just the rear trunk piece. If you buy them together I believe you save around $15 on the rear piece compared to if you buy it separately. I've only installed the trunk piece so far, but I might attempt the front this evening after work.

I haven't used the bigworm front or rear piece, but the stuff of theirs I have installed is SUPER easy compared to other vinyl I've installed.
