Add to this that the plant that builds the Challenger keeps shutting down, and who knows when they'll get their cars.

With the current state of things, I'd wait if it were me. The same thing could easily happen with the Camaro. How pissed would you be if you put a deposit on one "locked in" at MSRP and before you take delivery of YOUR car they're on dealer lots for employee price and 0% financing??
Well that's easy... I'd get my deposit back, and go buy the one that's already built, provided it has everything I wanted

No idea why these Chally guys would wait around for pre-orders still... that's just ridiculous

Ok I guess CamaroScotty is busy so I'll ask all. What if I'm not getting back from Iraq until Feb 2010, is it safe to say I'll be able to find my Camaro. Which I currently want a Black 2SS/RS. Thanks

A lot of them don't have refundable deposits I guess. Quite a few got locked in at over MSRP as well.

It's a toss up to be honest. There will be a price increase but I can't imagine them doing it if you order after 3/16. That would be pretty underhanded, upping the price before some could get to sit in it, test drive it etc. So since prod isn't official til monday I can't see them raising the price til the next MY. The problem is they are so far behind on prod if you don't order one soon you probably won't get one this year which means you'll pay more. I planned on ordering this weekend but it's not going to work out.

Nobody knows, Soldier. GM hasn't told anyone, pre-orders or otherwise, when they can expect their Camaros. I asked a whole bunch of dealers and nobody could give me any guidance. Nobody knows anything so everyone is guessing.

Will you be able to find A black Camaro SS on a lot in February of 2010? Sure; it's a common enough combination that some dealer somewhere will have one. It might be marked up like hell though.

And this is inevitably going to be true when demand dies down for the Camaro. What they've effectively done with these delays is stretch demand out over the year. If you want a V8 (like most do) it's going to be awhile which means demand will be pretty high all this year. If you wait til next year the sticker will likely go up (see the fastest car under 30K ex). I would think if you can order you prob should. The dealer around here told me I could order now and take delivery whenever. You could set it up around your homecoming. All you'd have to do now is find a dealer who has a refundable deposit and will honor discounts (a few on here I know of for sure).

Not exactly the best news but it will do thank you very much for you input. My second question is will they allow employee discounted sales, say.... sometime after March 16th for order???

I'm currently in Iraq but I live in Fort Worth Texas. So after the pre orders and such they are intending on jacking up the price??? Now my only big problem with preordering is I'm about 98% sure I want a Camaro and I have the money for it, I just would like to go for a spin in one and feel it out ya know? It jsut sucks being so far away right now and trying to figure it all out
