I have everything, but I am not renewing the Directions. It has yet to work correctly for me, has me go somewhere I don't want to go. Tried linking it with GOOGLE MAPS, and it never gets to my car. I have to hit the blue button and have On-Star load it in my car. Even then, it loads different directions than what I put on GOOGLE MAPS. At this time, it's not a good product, IMO.

WE live in Central Florida and my wife took the kids and her camaro to south Florida for the weekend and my kid locked the keys in the trunk somehow. My wife freaks out and calls me. After she called a locksmith and getting told they wouldn't touch the camaro, they suggested she get one cut at the dealer. I called there and found out it was over $200 for a new key. Then i remembered the free trial of On-Star. I called them and they unlocked the car in about a minute. Having that piece of mind was worth every penny since.

I have AAA for my wife's car... she has free towing as part of her warranty, but the number you call to get it is closed after 4PM. So AAA it is for her, and it was only like $10 to add me to the plan.

I like OnStar for me... it's like part of the car. You can't make a call on AAA when you forget your cellphone. And I like being able to just tell them an address and they do everything for me. But I have both available to me so I still have a choice.

Keeping safe and sound when my trial expires. I have yet to use the navi. Getting lost only means I get to drive my camaro longer! More time in my SS= Heaven.

Honestly, it's pretty shitty that GM isn't offering an in-dash nav unit with full screen (or even a touch screen...tech is getting cheap) in a $35k car.

But my justification to continue paying for it is that it IS a nice feature, as limited as it is. I like the extended-range capabilities of the verizon phone that it has, I don't want a nav-brick suction-cupped to my window (and also bait for smalltime thieves), and sometimes I DO just want to yell an address at someone and have them tell me how to get there. I can probably find the destination quicker using google maps on my iPhone, but having turn-by-turn directions (and not having to thumb through directions on a phone) is well worth the subscription.

I also don't have a cell phone bill (company pays), so I don't mind the $28/month full sub to OnStar...

I kept Safe and Sound, and they threw in the Nav setup for 6 months for free. I would hate have an accident or need the Safe and Sound for some other reason and not have kept it- I'd feel pretty stupid then. For $20 a month it's peace of mind.

I'm only two months in to the free starter trial, but I've already pre-subscribed to the full package. Even though I know that if the car gets stolen the first thing any semi-experienced thief will do is disable the antenna so it's useless on that end, it's nice to know I can easily get directions without any hassle and if I get creamed by a semi they will automatically call 911.

Also pre-subed to XM.
