After I had 7500 damage to my 08 Charger, with my 1000 deductible, spending 5 bucks on these doesn't look so bad.

I guess that everyone is referring to the two little plastic horns? I never believed that they work, that is why I use an electronic deer alert.

I bought one of these after I hit 3 deer in one season. Just from observing the deer now, they are already looking in my direction when I approach, and usually run away from the road before I reach their location. There is definite change in their behavior.
All 3 were in the same vehicle, my Tracker. When I bought my Camaro, I did not drive at night until I had installed one.

Deer are prey animals and they see anything like a car as a predator. They also tend to jump in the direction they are already facing (since it takes longer to turn around) so if they where already getting ready to cross the road and they see a car, chances are they will jump right out in front of you.

Also, if you see one deer on the side of the road, or even one crossing there is a very high chance another deer is about to cross.

Where did you mount it and the switch?

It is mounted in the center of the lower grill, pointing at the ground as recommended. Its kind of hard to see, unless you are looking for it. As for the switch, I haven't mounted it yet, its still hanging by the wires. I think that I'll mount it under the dash where I can reach it, but it will not be seen.
