Those cars sound sick

My plan is to wait until the fall to tear into the engine, but seeing those vids makes me want to do it much sooner

I have that Cam with the Vortech supercharger. Driveability is good and the idle is pretty rough. There is minor "surging" 1200-2000 rpm. Ted did the tune and my local chasis dyno shows 631RWHP!

I am really impressed at how well the rough idle blower cam drives. I got a chance to do some nice easy driving around town with a 2010 Camaro with the Rough Idle Blower cam, and it really blew my mind how well it drove with such a big cam.

I have the JRE rough idle blower cam and I am installing it now, will be running in the next couple days. However mine is a L99. I would suggest adding new lifters, mine did not come with lifters. But the LS3 conversion kit did offer the lifters so I am good. I will post my video up as soon as I get it up and going, I am about half way there now. Based on the specs of the cam and my personal experience this cam should work well with FI or NA, and should work well with NOS too.

Anybody have dyno graphs of this cam?
What kind of HP gains should I expect?
How nasty is the lope at idle
Anybody have a video clip?
Does the package include all parts needed for installation?
Would you replace the oil pump and timing chain as well?

Finally - Are there any other blower cam packages worth looking at?
Driveability is all in the TUNE!!
With My Tuning it is Perfect
I can post Dyno Graphs, I believe I already posted it in this section 2 months ago.
This cam with CAI, LT headers, SLP underdrive pulley Makes 470 RWHP 450 RWTQ as I recall.
Package includes EVERYTHING except Oil and Filter.
Oil pump is your Call We don't change them unless they are worn or high miles.
Same with Chain.

Video of The Yellow car was before it was tuned.

Video of the black car is Fully tuned.

Ted.

This cam was, is and stays number 1 on my to-do list

Hopefully it's gonna happen this year....

Question (Ted):
When adding this cam to my set-up (see sig, 3.6 Pulley stays on, meth after the tune), should we be talking about dual fuel pumps, or would the stocker still provide enough pressure?

When you have a blower already the Cam pushes you in to new territory.

You will need;

JRE Super Tensioner
3.4 Pulley
Shorter Belt
ID-850 injectors
Dual Fuel pump system
New Tune

You should see 650 RWHP Easy.

Ted.

Thanks Ted!

I'm not sure wether I want to cross that border yet. With 650rwhp I'd rather add forged internals to the above (just for piece of mind), which is a tad too much at the moment....

That's why I thought to stay on a 3.6 Pulley, keep it around 600-ish, feed some new found horses and enjoy the lopey sound

However: Sounds like something to consider... we'll see!

I have that cam package on my blown KB LS3. No issues with driveability. I was suprised how much the cam made a difference from 2K rpm and up. Thought I'd lose some low end, but not the case. It really rips now. Ted found the timing chain tensioner was broke in half... which probably explained the odd wear pattern on the cam sprocket. Glad I had cam done or who knows what might have happened.

Btw - Love that cammed sound
