Silly question, but I've been planning on Shorties, sop I never paid attention to the LTs. If you get these, since it changes the Cat situation, does it auto-void the warranty? If you go aftermarket cats, are there ANY that don't trigger a CEL?

I don't think there is an aftermarket cat that will prevent the CEL. I have the SOLO hi-flow res-cats on my car (no LTs - just the mid-pipe replaced). They were billed as no CEL. That was true for about the first 10,000 miles. Since then I get a CEL (cat inefficiency) every 60-80 miles. But that's OK, now I have an excuse to get LTs - might as well get the added power & sound now if I have to deal with the CEL anyway.

I think it depends on the dealer really. I would say it is a risk, I pretty much decided my warranty is shot and came to accept it. now if my power window or locks go out I will take it in for that

yea i'm stuck on warranty as well. I have the extended but the dealer said it was great for every electronic component in the car....I need to ask the dealer even if I void the engine warranty would the electronics still be covered.

I don't think that adding LTs alone (no tune) will kill the powertrain warranty (at least not with the all but the more 'strict' dealerships) but if you got a tune which you will want eventually and the dealer was to find out about it, that would kill it.

Just wondering, if you want to go obx, why not pacesetter? Aren't they $250?

I think pace setters are mild steel and obx are stainless.

here is my question.

how much hp we are looking from OBX?
what else is needed to make the OBX header work?
why are they so cheap?

* SUS-T304 stainless steel * Individual pipe for each exhaust port * Mandrel bend for smoother airflow to decrease resistance * Increase engine output and efficiency * Limited time warranty from manufacturer defects

Spec:

* Primaries: 1 3/4" * Lead Pipe: 2.5" * Four o2 ports * No EGR

I honestly think they are VERY comparable to BBK, but don't come with high flow cats. It comes as a cat delete. If you buy high flow cats seperately you start to close the gap on BBK as far as expense, All depends on your emission laws I can run no cats without issue so worked perfect for me.

Couple tips, do not use the gasket obx send and instead reuse the factory gasket or buy a new one from a dealer. most of us just reuse the factory gasket. You will also need 2 front o2 extention. Make sure you clean the header from any stains, oil drops, fingerprints, etc.. I made a mistake of not cleaning off my header before turning the car on for the first time and now every stain that was on my header is now embedded into the finish including couple blood stains
