Tracking the 6 digit order number?

I called.....and guess what I was told..???... I was told they stopped producing Camaros!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In 2003 or so!

My dealer told me I was at 1100 stage, that seemed normal. But he said All sold orders are automatically at priority #1. Does the priority mean anything? He is very tight lipped I guess...I am in the Los Angeles area, what dealers are local folks using with success?

If I am reading the before messages correctly, the priority number from your OrderWorkbench sheet is the priority # for that dealership. This relates to how many he is authorized to order into the system for that given period.

As an example: My OrderWorkbench sheet says I am Priority: 06, so I was the 6th person to pre-order a Camaro from that dealership in that build period. If he is authorized to submit 8 orders this period, my order will go right in (doesn't mean it'll get built right away though), but if he was only authorized 5 builds for that period, my order will be put in the next available period; nobody knows how many will be allowed until GM tells them per dealership.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

You're not really wrong. Any dealer can prioritize any way he wishes. IIRC, all orders default to priority #1 when initially entered. What most dealers did (and correctly IMO) was to change that number as each new person came in and entered. My dealer currently has orders numbered 1-22 (out of 31), with car #1 produced, #2 at 3400, #3 at 3000, etc... There was no need for him to change #4 to #1, etc as time went on. He has 10 cars between the Feb and March consensuses and more I'm sure coming in a few days when the April consensus is released. Again, as you said, no dealer knows how many he will get for the next month's build (consensus) until he is notified by GM. Even when he gets that number, he has to wait each week to find out how many of that monthly consensus total he can order during that week. Of, say 6 that he gets in consensus, he may not be able to order (GM may not "pick up") any during the first week of the month, then 4 the second week, then none the third, then the remaining 2 the 4th week. That's just the way it is.
