perofrmance suspension, Brembos, spoiler, performance tires ...... this stuff helps you stick to the road better when leaving Stangs and SRTs behind

If it's a daily driver go with the 2LT (make sure you get the C&C package)

If it's a weekend car, get the 2SS.
My 2SS wil be my everyday stang eater!!

If the money isn't a problem, why not go with the top of the line version of the Camaro?

#3 posted a personal review of the driving experience of both models. It is a good read especialy if you are on the fence. He has had both a V6 and a V8 at his disposal for some time and gives his honest impressions. It's worth a look. If you don't "have to" have a 2SS you should give the 2LT some serious consideration.

I faced the same issue. I had a 2LT on order for 4 months for all the "practical" reasons already mentioned. I kept reading Number 3 and Heather's reviews of the LT and listening to all the reasons why the LT would be "good enough" and "what do I REALLY need with 400+ HP?" Heck, I live outside of DC - it takes 45 minutes to go 17 miles to work!

But I kept looking at price calculators figuring if I could afford an SS, and watched the GTs pass me buy, then started seeing challenger R/Ts on the road. Then I really started looking at the drivers of V6 mustangs and thinking "what on earth are you doing driving a 'stang?" In the end I didn't want to be a poser. For, as great as the LT is, and it IS equal to many great cars out there, the SS is better than most. There will very few of its equal on the road. Shallow of me, I admit. But there it is; I switched to a 2SS two weeks ago and I sleep very well at night now.
Plus, I'm 49 - the hell with being practical. I'll get practical when I'm dead.

I don't drive competitively (not many folks in my area do, apparently) so it's the V6 for me. Honestly I'm just not the kind of driver who'd push an SS to do anything an LT couldn't do.
