If this thread is going to get as big as I think it might, you might want to have a mod add a post at the top of page one to use for a picture and significant event directory... You can link videos and pictures and whatnot so you and other can find relevant items easily... I wish I had done mine from the start, as it took a couple of weeks in my thread to go back and insert all of them... Worth it to me though...

One of the many neat little money sucking add-ons is the SJM Line Lock. My car being an M6 it can be a little awkward doing the burnout and keeping the car straight and such...at least for me.....so I installed a nice little line lock setup from SJM. I think I bought it from someone on the board but honestly I cannot remember.....you can google em and find em for sale. It tucks in nicely and we have the switch neatly tucked into the glove box so you would never know it's there until it's GO time.

Nice build. I have been eyeballing a whipple for my car. Did you do a dyno pull with the 3.875" pulley or just with the 3.5"?

Nope.....took it for a street ride and they saw the boost only hit 6 and ordered a new pulley right away. I would think upper 500 range even maybe low 600s?

So now that the car was finished it was time to venture forth to Pony Wars to see what it would do....I bought some Bogarts last minute as a nice deal showed up in the marketplace and I left the ET streets on Z06 wheels home in favor of the Bogarts.

Things started going south quickly once I got there......you can see my stock wheels on front.....I literally got the front tires mounted onto my Bogarts on the WAY to Pony Wars....so never test fitted the wheels to the car.

Those freaking Roller Skate brake pads bit me in the butt.....no chance of fitting these to the car now without a hacksaw or a grinder. Screw it...I wanted to race so I put the radials on the front in spite of the bias ply in the back.

Several people were very helpful and warned me that my car could possible explode if I had radials on the front and bias on the back....I wanted to race badly enough to chance spontaneous combustion so off I went to the staging lanes. I should mention that I have run mixed tires before and it's not that big of a deal as long as you expect the swaying that comes with it.....instead I wanted them to think that I wanted to race more than I didn't want to spontaneously combust.

So my first run up......expecting to run 10s........ummm no.

On my first run.......shitty launch....first time racing an M6 on slicks so I bogged it badly but who cares....let's run it out the back door for mph right......

So I am rowing through the gears...surely impressing everyone with my god given natural ability to drive a stick better than anyone on the planet.....and then it happened.

Top of 3rd gear the car stutters hard like it hit the rev limiter.....way cool...I'm such a drag racing maniac I'm bouncing the limiter and that's cool right.....so I shift 4th and prepare to FLY across the finish line and BAM...the car practically stutters so bad it shuts off. I coast across the finish line to a 12.1 at like 100mph or something like that.

Long story short...run a 2nd time and same thing.....this time I got out of it in 3rd gear as I am not sure what was causing the stutter so best to shut it down. After cursing Vengeance, Chevrolet, small puppies and a few of the fast cars in the crowd....I ate a cheeseburger and left for the hotel.

Needless to say my first trip to the track did not turn out like I expected. Vengeance came and got the car the following Tuesday and assured me that it would be taken care of...and by then I was over my baby fit so hope sprang anew.

Here is the culprit:

We are running a Meth kit on my car and it...at that time..was the first with a Whipple. They told us to mount it as far from the SC inlet as we could....so we put it back into the MAF tube....it doesn't come on until we're in boost so surely the massive suction in the air tube would pull the meth towards the engine and not let any get onto the MAF...which is upwind in the tube, albeit not far. In hindsight....it looks silly to put the nozzle there, and it probably was but in the scope of the size of this build....small hiccup and easily fixed. If I were not intent on taking it straight to Pony Wars without any shakedown runs then we would have found it and fixed it before ever showing up at a track. No time.....

Apparently not so much.....the Meth was getting on the MAF and freaking it out which pulled timing and did weird things to the fuel etc. So it fouled the plugs badly and would make the car stutter when the Meth sprayed.

So a few hours, some new plugs, a relocated Meth nozzle and the car was better than ever but cudos to Ron at Vengeance because while he was convinced that it was fixed....he wanted to take the car to the track and run the wideband on it and fine tune the tune if necessary and just make sure it was race ready.

I was happy again...the sun was shining and the skies turned blue now that my car wasn't an utter disaster. More to come.

huff, i will post some of my ideas for ya...also getting ready for build..get rid of meth., i am getting rid of mine..did not do much for my iats shooting 50/50..3 inches off the kb tube..i built a tank that fits in area that i will cut out of front bumper section..it has approx 20 ft of heat exchanger tubing running thru it and then goes back into the he and bacjk to sc..i have a 4.5 inch cap that i can remove and pour 2-3 bags ice...this should cool it for a couple runs...i,m not concerned for iats daily driving...

if you remove front facia you will see that stubby bumper..this fits after we cut out a 26inc section between frame horns..if you look at icebox , you will see the tabs on front and on top..this will bolt into the remaining bumper..

I haven't driven the car with the coilovers yet but I got this text from Ron last night.......

"coilovers are ****in awesome!" so that probably bodes pretty well for how they will work at the strip I hope. I have to go to Vegas this week for SEMA for work so I will be like a kid waiting for Christmas morning to get back.
