Which it most likely will. Most new cars nowadays have some kind of key security that won't let you use a cheap copy.

Yeah, and also they can beef up their sales numbers for the first "year". When the car mags are publishing info on sales for the Mustang vs. Camaro in the 2010 model year, the Camaro will definitely have the upper hand.

Make the pushbutton an option. I'll buy it.
Keeps costs down from having to do all of the cars that way and will put some extra money in the pockets of GM since they technology has already been developed. I'd say it could be an easy option....shouldn't be too expensive either.

I know, I was just bustin' your chops

I don't see something like push-button start being an option, that would add un-necessary cost, but who knows...

If they offered that as an option, it would be the first box I'd check!

Otherwise, I'm going to have to Keep the Camaro key off of any kind of keychain (to reduce scratches), and that would exponentially increase my chances of losing the key.

Everybody I know who owns a car like this, the Camaro's of old, the Mustangs, the old Muscle/pony cars, you know. They ALL have the car's keys on a completely separate keychain from their house keys Like a sacred keychain.

I'll be no different.

Also, though it's a little dissapointing there won't/may not be a push, or slide start. I'm more than happy with it. It'll allow for a more nostalgic feel, however slight, for me.

I think pushbutton start would add some much needed modernizing influence to the Camaro. Many people see it as just an attempt to revive an old nameplate to appeal to the all the baby boomers who loved the original. For whatever reason, adding pushbutton start would make people think of this more as a serious modern performance car, IMHO. I know that shouldn't be a big deal, but for the non-dedicated masses who need to be convinced by this car, details like that give a strong signal.

Wow...I never realized that but that is pretty damn true.... Anywho, since we won't be blessed with the push start you know what I think is neat? The way VW has their key/key FOB done, where it's like a switchblade. Haha Push the button and it flips out....I rented a Jetta a few months ago on a business trip and I was playing with that damn thing every minute I had it, flipping out and in out and in...

Ha ha, I'm sure I would be too. That's the problem... It would get broken within a few months. I do agree that it's pretty cool. Not quite sure if it has the "Muscle" feel to it though...

For our site, Post #1 is the original quote. I don't know where it was taken from (another site or email). But, it was identical to the email sent to me from Scott. That quote is straight from the fbodfather himself!
