Wow, good to know! Never realized R was on the left for the V6. That's strange.

YEah I think you may be shifting a little bit too hard into first. I haven't had that problem happen to me, not even once.

As for the gas pump thing, I have no idea but it has never happened to me.

LMFAO on this thread.

There is no gas issue. That happens because you dont put the the nozzle in correctly. That happened to me until i learned how to put nozzle in right. As far as R isnt that on the right side no wherr near 1st?

I'm 30, bean driving stick since I was 18. This is the first car I've had that didn't have a reverse lock out. I've got to admit this thread is a lot more funny than I thought it would be. I was venting, but I love this. I can spot to people looking to flame, the people who are looking to bash and don't even know that reverse is on the left.

I guess I'm confused...how does the reverse lockout help at a standstill? The way I understand it works is to keep a person from shifting into R at speed...in the event the person really wants 5th...

It's just annoying. My S2000 had the same sift pattern, but you had to push down to go into reverse, same story with my baja. It's just annoying when it happens. I'm getting into the habit of going into second then first to make sure I'm lined up. This doesn't happen every time, but whe it does it annoys me.

Perhaps. I've tried a number of things including trying to twist the pump a little to get a different angle. This is the only car where I've had this problem.

Have you just sat there practicing shifting from neutral to first? Sometimes your hand develops a memory all its own in terms of placement...

I don't like on my SS that if I am Rollin backwards and in neutral and go to put it in reverse it is locked out...I can live with that though and I can also change my ways. Every once and a while I fill up at a station where the pumps are a little touchy. I just pull out and readjust the position and if it works it works. If it doesnt work then fine. It's not like my pickup truck that had a 30 gallon tank and pitch a fit at a pump and have to hold it for all 30 gallons...cheer up man you drive a camaro 16 gallons to fill and hold the pump is nothing compared to the amount of fun you have in this amazing machine.
