Yeah we actually will let you know if you need to go to the dealer. We don't want you to be hit with any hidden charges. Fortunately with the Camaro no need to go to the dealer. If you take it in they will do it and charge you. . I like the manual free method better.

If you open the PDF for the tool, it states GM changed this in January 2011. So I'm wondering if some 2011's can't be done the manual method.

10,11 and 12 can all be done with the manual. They use the same sensors.

if it's anything like the corvettes (which 'need' a special tool), you just hold a big magnet up to it to do it yourself.

My vert was built 7 February 2011; manual says I need the relearn tool. Got new wheels/TPMs (from TireRack) and decided to try the pressure drop method anyway. Worked like a champ!

THE MANUAL RELEARN PROCESS STILL WORKS WITH THE 2012

Just hold the set relearn on the same screen and it will ask you if you want to do this.

Prepare it first by having all 4 caps off the tires, and let the air out for 5 seconds on each tire.

I did this a month ago on my dad's 45th Anniversary edition and it has been fine ever since.

On early GM products you used a heavy Magnet to relearn . Not sure if that still works or not.

I sent you a PM about it.

It does work, however the process has changed a bit since 2010.

The TPMS relearn this time doing it manually is undocumented and *MUCH* shorter.

The car will not lose the old TPMS value when you start the process like it does on the 2010. The old value may still remain, so pay attention to the values before and after you do the learn.

In the meantime, it can be done if you have all the valve stems off, and you run to each tire and let out the air for about 5 seconds each.

It took me two times to complete this on my dad's 45th Anniversary Camaro. The last tire, (passenger rear) is where I slipped up on.

i cant even get the first tire to beep for me. i get the 2 honks to says its started then let air out (tried it for 5 seconds, retried at around 10-12 seconds then again at aslong as my fingers would allow very cold air) and can not get it to honk!

On my 2010, I always ADD air while resetting the sensors, then go back and readjust to proper psi. Seems to work better than trying to let out air. I think the compressor fills it faster than you can let it out.
