Ya I missed the deer lol.. USAA was pretty cool with it they know that a deer jumping out can happen to anyone and our natural reaction is to get out of the way. I never saw it till it was in front of me. Also I told the shop that my service TC stability track came up and they are taking care of that too... any imperfections in the road pretty much sends it left or right depending so I know I've got alignment issues now.

My word! Sorry about your car, but if it's any consolation...when people hit a deer head on, the deer often come through the windshield and in at least one case I know of, the driver was killed. So, "all things come together for good to those who love the Lord"...He must not be through with you yet!

Those whistles are proven they don't work. Everyone knows you need to call them on their cell phones and tell them to stand pat until you drive by.

Not so much.. instead i go off the road and proceed to blast the entire passenger side of my ride into a barb wire fence and posts and brush.. yay me.

on the bright side i am safe unharmed and the car is already in the shop getting its estimate and repairs...
D'OH! A deer, a female deer.

I live out in the sticks as well and see deer all over the place, in fact my wife hit a deer in my Avalanche and caused $3000 in damage. Just about a month ago I was behind a Ford Ranger going about 60 and in the same exact spot where my wife hit the deer, another one jumped out in front of the Ranger and he hit it, it took out the front corner of his truck but it was still fixable. I stopped and made sure he was ok and both of us agreed that if he wasn't in front of me then I would have taken a serious hit in the Camaro.
Now I have learned that it is not always good to be the lead car, in the mornings when I am heading to work I make it a habit to just stay behind another car and give him enough room for an emergency stop, I use the car in front of me as a buffer zone so to say.
It is not a foolproof way to avoid deer but it does help.

I hit a deer a few years back, and I spent 5 bucks and put those on my Camaro. I was driving down the highway, saw a deer on the side of the road and as I came closer, he ran away. I would rather spend 5 bucks vs 1000 deductible and be out of a car while it is in the shop.

I've got the right mirror you can buy off of me. I was accidently shipped two of them when I pulled out of my garage and knick'ed the right mirror. 2nd day I owned it and it happened.

Anyways, it's yours for $50.00 if you are interested. PM me and I can send pictures.

I live in a deer-rich area too. There's 3 or 4 fresh kills every week along the stretch of hiway I drive. I came so close a few months back, I thought I saw a flicker of antlers in the headlights of oncoming traffic so I began to brake, sure enough they hit that deer and it went spiraling/sliding across my lane and off into the ditch, dead as hell. If I hadn't seen it... hadn't slowed down... I would have joined you.
