To start the new car manager tells me the guy he assigned to my order only works 2-3 days out of the week and that guy was handling my order. Even though the new car manage told me he was going to handle everything personally. Between that information and everything that's happened informed them I would like my deposit back ( and since I signed no contract other than a print out of my order where the man drew a line and asked me to sign that).

Now I am getting the run around trying to get my deposit back. I love playing phone tag with the new car manager and the gm just to get my deposit back. And they're telling me I can't have my deposit back till the car itself comes into the dealership. If this wasn't prolonging me placing another order at another dealership I wouldn't be so upset.

Any suggestions or is what they're saying valid?

Thanks,

Jonathan
I would go to the dealer and ask to speak to the gm. I would tell him your dissapointed, but would still like to work things out. Ask (nicely) for proof that your order has been accepted, and where it is in the system. Have him show you on the computer the event status code proving it. If they are telling the truth, I'd forgive (but not forget on the next car you buy).

If he cannot/will not, then they are full of I'd threaten them with everything if they don't give your deposite back immediately:

Tell them you will:
1. post their identity here,
2. tell everyone that will listen that they are a bad dealership and not to go there,
3. file a "small claims court" action for your deposite back (hell, maybe you'll end up on Judge Judy or some other TV show),
4. write a letter to GM telling them you'll never buy another GM vehicle again because of this bad experience,
5. contact the local newspaper/TV station (maybe they do a consumer report segment or something like that),
6. file a complaint with your local Better Business Burea,
7. contact your State's Attorneys' General office,
8. anything else you can think of

Mine is 1000.00 non-refundable. I figured, I'm gonna buy this car anyway so what the hell. The dealers with refundables had 15 people in front of me and mine had only one. Same number of allocations. I'm at 3000+ and the one guy I know at the other dealer was number 7 and he's still at 1100

I'm assuming they can keep it because I signed on the dotted line. It's all in writing Msrp and keeping the stock wheels so I'm not worried.
