well just got another update...they actually were shipping back 3 of the 4 wheels back to me..I have no idea what happened to the 4th and she said that she told them if the 4th does get shipped back here to ship back to georgia (but she didnt tell me where the 4th one was )..They stopped delivery and sending them back to georgia location for inspection..I advised her that the wheels are prob further damaged now that they werent repackaged and she assured that they will help us out...This is unbelievable!! In a way im glad these idiots did this..gives us more leverage now..She will call me later with another update...and its funny that the claims person informed me yest she had the inspection report and was reviewing it and would get back to me..and while she was reviewing the report the wheels were being shipped back to me??!! WTF?? lol it makes me chuckle

No worries dude.. They are pretty good about fessing up to damages. If you insured them then you are good.

Next time boxes and packing peanuts I guess.

It's sad that they cant do a better job, both UPS and Fedex suck. When I was trying to sell some wheels for a great deal, I wouldn't ship them, because of exactly what happened to the guys in this thread, just not worth the headache....

I hate to say "I told ya so".

Like this.

It should look like this when you are done, but with the cardboard extending PAST the tire.

Keep in mind that both FedEx and UPS use high speed conveyers and automatic diverters to move packages from one belt to another. As Sux2b3u diagram shows the proper way to ship wheels and tires with the cardboard out to the edges of the tire.

No way does a properly packaged wheel and tire get damage below the edgeof the rim as shown in your second photo. I jave delivered many wheels/tires packaged properly with no damage. It can be done.

I said you should use 2 THICK cardboard sheets or more if you don't have thick cardboard and go past the tire with card board. From your first picture I don't see any of the wheels with cardboard past the edge of the tire. This along with probably not using thick enough card board didn't cause the damage but it could have done a better job of preventing it. Fed Ex should definitely pay for this, but going overboard on the packaging job would have saved you a headache.

Like I said I have been down is road before. I was very pissed off at UPS and they made it right, but this will never happen to me again and it hasn't. You can try to warn people as much as humanly possible about your past experiences, but they just have to learn for themselves.

thanks, im not trying to attack you I'm just livid right now..the whole damaging part isnt whats getting to me..its the part where they have the nerve to send wheels back to me UNPACKAGED without anyones consent WHILE the claim depts going over the inspection...wtf...And an update: the claim dept says that the report states the wheels werent packaged when they inspected it (no shit they werent packaged YOU f'ers picked them up UNPACKAGED)..thankfully i emailed her the pics of them packaged up before i sent them out..so shes communicating this with her manager and states she will hopefully get this resolved today..(not holding my breath)

Sorry to hear about your ordeal, vex.
