There was more than likely 87 octane in the tank = lackluster performance.

I'm sure I'll be flamed here, for this opinion but it's my opinion what can I say, I'm not a troll - or trolling for Corvettes or any other vehicle, as a matter of fact had no interest in a Vette just drove it for comparison at the behest of the salesman. I'm just a regular guy looking for a new toy, so long folks I hope all of you guys enjoy your rides.
Ultimately it is your decision but who takes the time to join a Camaro forum just so they could tell us they dislike the car we love. Loser:fighting0040:

the vette starts at about a $55k base price, while the v8 camaro starts at about a $32k base price. if you weren't expecting the vette to be faster prior to your trip to the dealer, you're really ignorant about cars.

no one is mentioning it because it could start a flame war in and of itself, but the auto camaro also has quite a bit less power than the manual. it's a hot topic as to how much acceleration is affected though.

and 87 octane will make a difference. and if you didn't turn traction control off, that will also affect performance. the camaros are definitely much slower off the lot than out of the garage.

All opinions are welcome. Anyone who would totally dismiss the Camaro based on one comment in a forum probably deserves to drive a prius.

My v6 Camaro is a fast car. I'm just sayin'

I have, and have driven many Vettes. I drove a friend's that was 800 hp (yep, that was FUN!). They are different beasts. I was saving for a Z06 and bought a 2012 Camaro. Dollar for dollar hard to beat a Camaro, if it feels right for you. I can't speak to the automatic but I can snap anyone's neck with my manual! Idiot probably does not know how to drive! Maybe he should stick with "foreign muscle".
