hid kits cost between 150-300 dollars. NOT 1200 dollars.... someone said it is worth it just for the HIDs.....

Do those HID kits include the projectors? Do they feature both high and low beams? I remember looking for a comparable aftermarket HID kit for any car...and I couldn't find anything below $900 for two lights...at that price, I'd rather have the factory install them, ya know?

No, POS ricer hids cost $150-300. Quality high/low hids that will last more than a year and wont start your car on fire when they burn up the ballasts cost a lot more.

The HID Conversion kit for my truck was $250, but it only includes the bulbs and ballasts. I think that when people say $1200, they mean the whole housing, projectors, etc.

Here is why I ordered a 2SS without the RS package:
High-intensity discharge headlamps - I like the regular headlights and foglights Spoiler - I get this with the SS package 20-inch midnight silver aluminum wheels - I wanted the polished Rims Body-colored roof ditch moldings -My car will be black Darker tail lamps - Can get them latter Red SS Badge - I think the silver will look better If it was priced less I might have got the package. |

thanks guys...
I just saw the 31 thousand dollar Motor Trend article and the car is awesome. Hell of a performance vehicle... I'm sure the various options are well worth it and I appreciate everyone who took the time to explain the differences..

I pretty much agree with you. I ordered a black 2ss with polished wheels. The only thing the RS would have really added was the head/tail lights, and I've yet to notice the difference in the tail lights. I do like the HID/halo headlights, but they're not worth $1200 to me. I suspect that in the next couple of years someone will offer conversion kits at a more reasonable price. I might consider upgrading to the RS head lights for, maybe, $400 or less. I also seriously considered the 1ss (yeah, I admit I'm cheap), because I don't mind cloth seats. But I have to have the gauge pack (can be added for $300-400), and I like the homelink, PDIM, upgraded sound, heated seats, etc. so I went ahead and sprung for the 2ss after I found out that I could use the supplier and USAA discounts.

Ya I hear ya. I was thinking the same things. I can add all that stuff later and probably cheaper down the road. I"m not really one for leather seats, since we get such a temp range here. Your either sticking to them or they're freezing your plums off. So I like the cloth seats, I prefer silver emblems (thinking about blacking them out anyway, along with the bowties) And I"m gonna paint my wheels black eventually. So all the options of the RS package didn't make alot of sense to me, but I can see the appeal for some folks.
I got into my 1SS for 37k ($CDN) and that is a smokin' deal IMO. all i really wanted was the V8 manual anyway haha if they put that engine in a golf cart i'd buy it

Do you not get the bluetooth upgrade too or do all have that? I don't know but that comes in handy with a manual too! And to add think that being a factory option will give better resale value! Oh yea the ambient lights on door are awsome too!
