Yeah, I basically can confirm just about all of what I have read on this thread. I would certainly get the one without the sunroof (you lose headroom as it's the kind that slides back motorized, if it was an aftermarket one that just pops up manually it would be different). I also agree with lowering the seat (I personally was very glad that the seats go up and down in addition to other adjustments), and last but not least you will definitely get used to the visibility.

Not that this has to do with seeing over the hood, but if you do get a Camaro...get those little round mirrors that go in the corners of your side view mirrors...they help a lot with lane changing.

I'm 6'5" and couldn't drive a car with a sunroof in it, nor would I actually want a sunroof car but i do need the seat all the way down and back and if I'm not paying attention will bump my head with a good bump in the road.

It took me a while to get use to backing out of parking spots as there are definitely some blind spots and when you first get the car the last thing you want to do is back into something. After a few weeks it isnt an issue any more.
rearview camera ftw

Yeah, 6' 1" here and don't have a problem and I keep the seat adjusted down. Thats how these cars are its not a van or a truck. My wife is short, she adjust the seat up, no problem seeing. You can do it.

I am 6' 2" and have never had any problems and I have the seat about as low as it can go. My first impression was it felt like sitting in a ****pit but I never had any problems with visability over the hood. Maybe it depends on what your used to driving before the camaro.

I came to the realization you are not suppose to see over the hood I raise the seat up which helps some but I still have trouble seeing over the entire hood. You get used to it.

You get used to it. Visibility is not the greatest on a fifth gen Camaro, but that's because styling trumped practicality in this case. I wouldn't have it any other way; and judging by the Camaro's sales, a lot of people agree with me.

My Sienna has completely different visibility...I don't want my Camaro to drive like my van.

thanks for all the responses guys and girls. It's good to know that i can rely on this community for any question i have regarding the camaro. But now i know that the visibility isn't as alarming as I thought it would be. Just something ill have to get used to. After all the design of the car is killer and puts other muscle cars to shame.

Seems like the key word(s) everyone here is using is "you get used to it"

I'm 6' and it took me awhile to get used to the feel of the visibility over the hood. Same goes for judging the distance from an object to the passenger side front fender. In my garage, I have a tennis ball on a string, suspended from ceiling, that keeps me from hitting the rear wall of the garage.

Everyone says that sunroof equiped Camaro's have less interior head room, if you consider 1 to 2 inches less, then yes it can be a problem. But I have a sunroof, and with my seat all the way down, I have 3 to 4 inches of head room.

My biggest complaint about the Gen5 is the REAR visibility. Thank God for the backup warning system. Even with the mirrors adjusted, it's hard to back up.

Like others have said, you'll get used to it. Once upon a time I had a jacked up 4x4 and after gettng used to it myself I could even parallel park the rig in some rediculously tight spots. I'm 6'2", just took my first camaro test drive yesterday, but probably because of my experience I didn't really notice the hood height. I'll definately be looking for a car without the sunroof though!

The Camaro has visibility issues. That's like saying an elephant is heavy.

I love my car, but yes it has some major visibility issues (front, back, and at angles). I've owned dozens of cars and this car is by far the worst as far as visibility.

But as mentioned, that's part of why the Camaro looks so cool (from the inside and out). You just have to learn to adjust your driving style and be cautious and you'll be fine.

lol, of course it's going to be different. your coming from a fairly small compact car to a camaro. not to mention, that little 4 in the mazda doesn't take up much room up front. you'll get used to it.

oh, and not hating on the 3, if I were in the market for a compact that's probably what I'd get.
