The prices I kept finding for the Cat-Back was from $850 to $1100 dollars. That's why I was happy with my cost!
I still didn't see the Outlaw on his site??? I also have a hard time believing that there are no HP gains from doing a "Free Flowing" 3" Cat-Back...just from all the resonators etc that are now gone and some of the crimps in the stock 2.5" exhaust piping! |

I just purchased my CAT-Back system yesterday. I used google to find the lowest price. Summit and Tenesee Speed both list at $772 and Jegs at $789. Neither Summit or Tenessee had a Military discout and Summit charged a handling fee. I spoke to Jegs on the phone and after discount and shipping the total was $709 to my door on Firday. Kay at Jegs was very helpful and to have it arrive so fast was a plus. Summit and Tenessee both had shipping dates that weren't until next week.

Very nice!
If you love and want the true Muscle Car sound of the 60's and don't have headers...this is the exhaust for you! If you enjoy a quieter Europeon sound then you will not like this system. I can't speak for someone with headers but I would imagine this system would be a "Monster" and maybe too much for an everyday driver like mine! Quote:

Question: You did say that you had the Outlaw Catback #817556 and not the Axle Back #817504... Right? I'm not really concerned about the 4 cylinder sound because I use the Range to disable it.
Also, how does it sound inside when cruising at 70-75 on the Highway in 8 cylinder mode? Absolute no drone at all? At this speed is the sound loud enough that you have to talk a little louder to a passenger to hold a conversation, or does it quiet down when not accelerating aggressively? I've got a 2011 2SS/RS L99 Coupe... and Flowmaster Tech said the Axleback Outlaw Kit would probably be excessive, even with the factory L99 Resonator in tact? As a result, I'm concerned that the Outlaw Cat Back might be obnoxiously loud? Don't get me wrong, I want it to be really aggressive and have a nice deep tone; in fact, I don't care if it gets obnoxious when the pedal is to the floor! However, when driving conservatively, I want to be able to talk normally on the Camaro's Bluetooth System, enjoy a conversation inside of the vehicle with a passenger, or listen to the radio at about 15? Yet, even so, I want the exhaust note to indicate what's really under the hood... with that "it cant be stock sound"!!! What about the idle... after the car reaches normal operating temperature, is the idle really loud? Do you have any sound clips posted anywhere that I might be able to listen to?

Ground effects
Correct me if i'm wrong, but it looks like the catback setup for the outlaw series will not fit on L99 with the ground effects package?

I don't have the ground effects package Bro.... I'm just hoping that the Outlaw Axle Back will be agressive with my L99 resonator in tact and without headers, highfow cats… etc. All I'm doing is changing the axle back portion of the exhaust... I'm just kinda torn between the Axle Back Outlaw Kit & The Cat Back Outlaw Kit... worried that the stock L99 Pre Axle Back Configuration is gonna be too quiet?

The best thing you can do to find your answer would be to listen to each system in person because what each person considers "loud & too loud" is a matter of opinion. If all you plan to do is exhaust, or exhaust and headers then the cat back (my opinion) would be ok. It'll have a little drone but it'll sound good. If you plan on removing the cats & adding a cam then I'd consider the axle-back. With my set up I plan to add high flow cats to quiet mine down a bit, and it that's not enough then I'll change to the American Thunder mufflers. (these two cat back systems share the same midpipes, so if you do get the cat back and you think it's too loud you can change it out for the American Thunder mufflers to quiet it down.) Here's a couple clips of mine. I don't know if they'll help you at all though.

@ agd5151... So you have only added the CAI and Outlaw Catback, with everything else otherwise stock; Right? Have you experienced the "annoying drone" that everyone seems to be worried about? Also, do you have your AFM tuned out? If not, is the 4 cylinder mode really that bad? I don't want an American Thunder Kit... For me, its either the Outlaw Catback or the Outlaw Axleback with everything in the Pre-Axle Back remaining stock. It's no doubt in my mind that the catback is gonna be louder than the axle-back; I'm just wondering if the Axle-back will be noticeably more aggressive than the stock mufflers?
![]() I'd love to hear an Outlaw setup in person!!! Anyone in the Detroit Metropolitan Area with an Outlaw Catback or Outlaw Axleback on an Automatic L99???
