My Flowmaster catback review.

I bought the Flowmaster catback system part No: 817481 from Branden at Maryland Speed, he is a great guy to deal with and had the boxes at my door exactly as promised. When I opened the boxes to look at my new mod I noticed the end of one pipe on the scavenger had been bent inwards, looking like someone had dropped it before it was packaged. I contacted Branden and he suggested I take it to an exhaust shop and have them bend it back on one of their machines which I did for a cost of $20. Today I was booked in to have the exhaust installed at a local shop, following the Flowmaster instructions the stock system came off with no problems all in one piece. Once they got the scavenger pipe mounted the mechanic called me out into the shop and said 3 of the 4 supplied band clamps were the wrong size, they were 695mm instead of 3".

After numerous calls no one had any in stock but could order them in by the middle of next week. I ended up buying 3 normal exhaust clamps which the mechanic carefully snugged up gently to not bend the pipe. We fired the car up and luckily there are no exhaust leaks. I've sent an e-mail off to Flowmaster explaining the situation and I'm hoping they will send me the needed band clamps ASAP but swapping them over is going to cost me even more money.

Now for the good stuff. After they took off the stock exhaust they lowered the car and asked me if I wanted to start it with no mufflers.......DUH!! The sound was amazing, so sweet that I'm now considering getting Noweeds installed. On the drive home I was very happy with sound coming from the back of my car, not too loud but had a very nice growl to it. Dropping a gear and slowing down for a corner still gets the popping sound which I enjoy. I have not noticed any drone inside the car at any RPM range but have not had a chance to get out on the highway yet.

Overall.

Purchasing from Maryland Speed........10
Shipping from the factory.................10
Packaging .....................................10
Fit and finish...................................8
Installation....................................10
Parts accuracy from factory...............5

Factory errors have cost me time and money but I would still recommend this system, just check all the parts once you open the box.
