Oh so true. We've had a few stock/nearly stock cars have problems. The warranty isn't going to cover a FI V6, so if you are at all worried, wait until the warranty is up before going that route or have a backup car.

BTW Scrming, don't you need to update your "Drives" section of your profile???

So much info thanks. As far as FI I will be doing in the next few months. Not worried about warranty and have a back car just in case something breaks. I really dont plan to push the limits as many others do. 4 to 5 psi would be okay I figure it would give ss result without the insurance woes.

cjt037 read about you car this is not a bash. That was one bada$$ ride. But I would be happy with 40 to 50 hp less.

The manual transmissions have limited slip differentials. The automatics do not. The physics of rotation mean that most of the power from the engine goes to one wheel. So, wheel you stomp the gas, both tires spin, but only 1 puts most of the power down. Once your tires go up in smoke, you are no longer accelerating as fast as you can.

With limited slip, when the powered wheel breaks loose, the mechanics shift the power to the one rotating slower, meaning you continue accelerating.

Simple words: limited slip means both wheels have power, not just one.

How's that for a quick, late night explanation?

Very few FI vendors actually understand proper carnkcase evacuation noi matter how big the name. You will find the ones that have it right offer the RX dual valve oil separating system just for FI.....it is the ONLY system specifically designed to provide proper evac under boost or non boost operation. Most kits come with a setup that only addresses 1/2 of the operation and the results are eventual leaks and smoking issues.

Do a search on "proper crankcase evacuation for FI" to read more andunderstand it.

The PCV system is perhaps the most misunderstood system on todays cars and trucks.

Thanks, I have been reading the FI threads and the mentioning of your evac system,I should have been more specific when I asked about the "STS oil mess" quote. The reason I asked, aren"t oil leaks probable with "any" FI w/o proper evac once boost is high enough? Evac needed with just, say 5 or 6psi? Thanks, future FI LLT
