Now the difference is Grundy is agreed value State farm as far as I know have never offered an agreed value just market value.

They do heve agreed value on older cars as I have it on several. I dont believe they have it for the zl1, but I don't know why you would want it on a new car. State Farm first quoted me 404.00 every 6 months, but when I asked if there was any discount for low miles (below 7500 a year) there was . New price 360.00 for 6 months! Grundy was 440.00 6 months. Just fyi.

My insurer, Nationwide, no longer offers a discount for a low mileage car that is driven less than 7500 miles a year. I get a discount for it being a second car and it being newer, but not for driven primarily on weekends. Im waiting for them to get the accurate symbol from their source. If I didn't have a ticket about a year ago that they are overlooking, I'd check out USAA again.

Guys & Gals, you have to be honest with the insurance company. It will come back to bite you in the ass if you don't. Trust me, they have seen every scam in the books and you have not invented a new scam yet to save you money. If something happens to your baby and it hasn't been documented correctly you are the one that will pay the price.

I don't think anybody is being dishonest. There is no symbol or standardized rating available for the car yet. When I insured my car they asked how much I paid for it along ith the VIN, which doesn't hide anything. Mine and everybody else's will reset when the data is avail from GM or wherever they get it. My agent felt it was rated correctly even without the symbol. She had even been to the Super Chevy show and had seen the ZL1 there, which surprised me.

Mine went up (state farm) and when we called to ask they said the camaro rate increased.

We've been with them 20+ years but with all the increases lately we're going to start shopping around.

They offer it on older cars and new cars my 01 Z/28 I have an agreed value of $35k (it started out at $28k each year grundy increases the value), when I checked for a ZL1 it was around $6xx ish a yr for an agreed value of $65k I value it as a full replacement if your ZL1 is totalled 99% of the insurance companies unless you are making payments and have GAP will pay you market value so in a year from now your $60k ZL1 is not worth $50k it's called CYA insurance companies can care less about all they care about is making a profit and offering you as little as possiable.

The price difference must be from state to state . They did not ask, and just quoted me over the phone. I decided to stay with my local agent as I have been with State Farm for over 35 years. I also called Farmers and they don't have agents. I ask them for a quote on the zl1, and they started asking 100 questions. When they ask for my ss number, I said thats enough, I just wanted a quote. So thats was the end to that conversation. I mention the under 7500 miles a year (State Farm) because they will not tell you about this discount unless you ask.

The reason they wanted your SS is to run a credit report. Insurance compaines use your credit score in determining your rates. They maintain that more financially responsible people with higher scores are less of a risk.

That seems logical, but I wasn't giving it to them, especially on the phone, just for a quote. Plus it will lower your score for them to run it-right?
