Out running errands, and a IBM pulls up next to me, we both have windows down and I'm obviously checking out his car. And I'm thinking, duh, they are the same color stupid. Now as they pull away I get a glimpse of my reflection in their door panel as they are pulling away, and have this moment of clarity. OMG I'M IN ONE TOO, but mine is AGM!! He wasn't being a self-absorbed jerk, he was truly complimenting my car. "WE" have nice cars. I drove around the whole rest of the afternoon with the stupid permagrin.

I used to drive a blue Monte Carlo with custom graphics, so I was used to getting the "nice car" comments, and for a moment I totally forgot I was in my new Camaro. Does anyone else have those temporary lapses?
Lmao

OK people, thank you for confirming I'm as flaky as the hubby accuses me of being.

In my defense, I guess old habits are hard to break. I've been lusting over these cars since I was 14. I guess I'm still having a hard time believing, after more years than I'm willing to admit, I finally have one of my own. I've only had it 2 weeks, but it feels comfortable and familiar, and it just "fits". My old car took a long time to get that point.

I have a 2012 charger and 2012 camaro so sometimes I'll give a thumbs up to a fellow charger, but I'll be in the camaro and vice Versa

Totally had 3 brain farts at once yesterday, whilst driving a borrowed Pontiac Suckfire....I mean Sunfire.

---"Where'd the clutch go? Oh wait."
---"How fast am I going?" (No HUD hologram)
---Barely turn the start and the Camaro proceeds to crank until it starts on its own. Turn the start on the Suckfire for a quick second and nothing happened.

Similar to this one (not ours)

I have had this happen to me.... go to work and get so absorbed in the day that when its time to go home I forgot what vehicle i actually drove. thats why I have seperate keyrings for each vehicle... when i forget I just find the keys usually in my bag or pocket and i immediately recall what i drove.

When winter comes and I park the Camaro I do stupid things in my '90 mazda 4x4 pickup like turn the key and let go, expecting it to continue turning and fire... Look at the face of my cd player like it's going to tell me time/temp... go looking for sixth gear (which is reverse in my 5 speed pickup)... grope around looking for the button to adjust the side mirrors... it's pathetic. I just need to move somewhere that I'm not up to my a$$ in snow every winter, that's all.

I also own Vettes and a Jeep Wrangler....both of which draw waves from other owners, too. So I suspect I wave at the "wrong" car more often than I even realize.

My granny sedan 4 cylinder Malibu I recently acquired makes me appreciate my Camaro so much more. Sometimes I act too ****y in the 'bu then I see a fly car and like damnit I'm not in my Camaro so ya, but for me it's reverse.

I have occasionally found myself in my Dakota trying to shift into 6th on the highway only to have the grinding on reverse remind me I'm in the wrong vehicle...
