Do you ever "forget" what you're driving?

I had a ditzy moment today, and I wonder if others do this.

Out running errands, and a IBM pulls up next to me, we both have windows down and I'm obviously checking out his car. Passenger looks over and says "nice car isn't it?" to which I reply, "yes, very" but I'm thinking how full of himself he is. Then I tell him "nice color too" and the passenger says "yea, yours too". And I'm thinking, duh, they are the same color stupid. Now as they pull away I get a glimpse of my reflection in their door panel as they are pulling away, and have this moment of clarity. OMG I'M IN ONE TOO, but mine is AGM!! He wasn't being a self-absorbed jerk, he was truly complimenting my car. "WE" have nice cars. I drove around the whole rest of the afternoon with the stupid permagrin.

I used to drive a blue Monte Carlo with custom graphics, so I was used to getting the "nice car" comments, and for a moment I totally forgot I was in my new Camaro. Does anyone else have those temporary lapses?

I guess it's actually backward compliment to the Camaro. I loved my Monte, and once I get all settings adjusted, the Camaro interior feels just like my old friend, with a few new bells and whistles. All in a cool sexy new body. Best of both worlds.

Heh, I used to have a 2005 Monte before I moved up in life. Haven't had any of these moments though.

Some guy in a rally yellow Camaro ignored me as I rode by with a dumb grin on my face the other day.

Not while I'm in it (there is a little difference between a Camaro and a 2500HD CCSB) but when I'm at work thinking about needing to pick something up on the way home, or how much fun the drive home could be. Then realize I don't have the vehicle I need or want that day.

A bit off topic but there is a guy in our subdivision that recently got a gen 5. I noticed it a few weeks ago and finally passed him last night with both of us in our Camaro's. Dude waved first!

Nope, I'm always happy to be in my camaro. It's my daily driver and I know what I'm in every second I'm driving.

When I see another camaro headin my way I always give a courteous flash of the hid's. During the day that is lol I don't wanna blind the guy at night. I either get the flash back or a wave. Most camaro guys like to get the little hello wave or light flash.

My exhaust doesn't let me forget. Sometimes I'll forget how sensitive the 'go' pedal is after letting out the clutch.

My dd is a Charger R/T so no I dont forget when Im in my Camaro. The Charger is still a v8 & still fast but its a still a sedan. My Camaro is a beast compared and the extra loud rumble of my exhaust never lets me forget. I get compliments on both all the time. I just say "thanks" and keep moving on

Yea and it was in my 99 malibu

I was driving down the road when I seen a car parked ahead of me in my lane and a car riding along side to the left of me. I thought to myself "no problem just step on the gas a bit, get into the left lane so I don't get stuck behind the car and that's it
