If you decide you want it, it's easy to do yourself.
Fabric protectant is nothing but ScotchGuard or a competing product. Rusty Jones rustproofing is a waste of time. |

I quit getting undercoat in 96 ...... the panels today are triple dipped for protection, the metal is superior now.......why do you think Chev gives rust out warranty..! You drive it for a while B4 you decide about the noise!

Just another perspective...
Rustproofed 2001 Silverados are coming back with fenders that aren't rusted out...So they get a good trade in value.... Non-rustproofed Silverados are coming back with rust through above the rear tires, and on the back corners of the cab.....They get a "fair" trade in value, and they get wholesaled at the auction. We're also seeing Oldsmobile Alero's and Intrigues coming back the same way. We see this because we have a 85% retention of customers. Another question is, have you ever tried to make a GM corrosion claim? I'd rather take my chances with a 1967 Camaro untreated vs a 2010. My OWN opinion is, If I had an SS, I wouldn't....If I had a LS, 1LT, or 2LT as a daily driver, I would! |

I wouldnt be driving an SS in the winter time :-)
And the Silverado's I mentioned were 2000's and 2001's we had on a truck trade sale we had.... ANOTHER FYI - The wheel wells are all plastic liners....no need to rustproof those

If you're concerned about road noise, and you drive on some dirty roads.... buy yourself a can of undercoating spray and hit the inside of your fenders. |

undercoat
I had my SS2 under coated it came with a package that my dealer offered, Crystal fusion on the glass, undercoating, paint sealed and interior seal, everything is covered for five years if I get chips in paint, if they can't repair it they will repaint it. the same for everything else. also the tires and wheels are also covered for 5 years. I thought it was a good deal especially with the way we get rock chips.
I do like the undercoating it is a quiet ride. if you have it done make sure you check your wheels real good. I had to take my SS2 back and have them remove the overspray. diggermike62
