i would NOT have bought new if i had to pay the Government Guzzler Tax...
i dont mind driving hard enought to negate 1-4 skip. (although in traffic it does come up)
i dont mind buying a 25 dollar gizmo to fix it forever

that means that the mirror is 38.75% the size of the vertical windshield...
it sure seems like the ratio could be better... just sayin....

I think the guzzler tax is whats stupid, forcing GM to spend money on R&D for a skip shift most people will get rid of. Total waste of time and money. I deactivated my skip shift thanks to LS1 EDIT. My gas milage didnt really change much, go figure.

It is not some sort of module that magically adds MPG. It games the way that they test cars for EPA mileage. Using the feature as recommended in the manual will allow for better city mileage.

If you are experiencing the skip shift you are short shifting like a professional fuel economy mizer.

I have driven an SS for months and VERY rarely to I get "the gate". On the Camaro it is much less intrusive than the Corvette, for example.

Just drive some more and you'll get better.

Also the tip I've given many times. When you are driving slow, instead of pulling hard down into second, pause and the shift lever go over to the neutral gate then pull to second. You'll "fool" the system and it really just becomes a matter of habit to drive that way when you are driving that slow.

Not sure on the camaro tranny, but on the vettes you don't have to buy anything, just pull the plug on it.

It's slightly annoying, doesn't occur often, and is even easier to remove than it is to talk about.

is there some kind of signal the car gives you when skip shift is engaged? or do you just find on your own when you get locked out of second?
