My dealer offers Simoniz Glass Coat that polymerizes the clear coat and forms a ceramic glass resin. Its warranty is 7 years on a new car.

Clearcoat is part of the 2 stage paint system. !st is the color tint and 2nd is the clear which of course gives it its shine. You can not add extra clearcoat, unless you want to take it to a body shop and basicly have it repainted. Bodyshops do not "bake" the paint as hot as the factory! Just wash it with "car" soap and wax it on a regular basis.

Personally, I'd stay way way far away from Simonizing.
Get a 3m clear-bra film on the leading edges and in rock chip prone areas. |

yeah, just wax it. then after a while, pull out the clay bar, and you have the original shine back

The 3M looks good on the areas it covers, but I don't like how the edge introduces a new "seam" in a usually continuous surface.

Thats all you need 3-4 years down the line the top clear coat you added flacking off piece by piece.
Don't know about the clear braws but the old black ones I had Lebraw on one of my 4rth gen , fit like a glove and looked awsome. The problem is when the car is moving even the slightest movement by the braw will cause it to rub and over time it will damage the paint. |

I'm not really seeing the need for the 3M clear bra on film this car. The front facia is the flexible material that shouldn't be chipped by rocks and stones. Perhaps the leading few inches of the "buldge" on the hood might get chipped, but I don't think the facia section would be getting "stoned"...
