generally speaking... factory stripes comes out 10x cleaner then any aftermarket ones (but they are more expensive for this very reason) ... very rare do u see a superb aftermarket job that matches up to the factories... atleast from what ive seen

that and the factory warranty will be on them, which is probably better than any sort of shop in your town. Painted stripes look good and will last, but if they are messed up its not something you can just peel off. A sticker is alot easier then painting.

maybe this has been answered somewhere on here and if it has I am sorry, but I have searched and have not been able to find it. Why is the Black Rally stripes the only color that is not a factory install. I don't understand what the difference is between the stripes other than the colors? What difference does it make to the installer what color he is applying.

well after doing the first car that my local dealer got, pics on this site, the reason for the hold up on the cars is that the stripe install is trickey at best and there is no majic, just you need installers that know what they are doing..and that is a big problem..I have been contacted form dealers all over and out of the country on these....takes 2 days to do them right...Rob

CGM and White Rally Stripes are factory installed, Black, Orange, and Silver Rally Stripes and all Hood and Hockey stripes are dealer installed.

Once everything is clipping along at full speed for production, they are looking to add additional stripe options to be factory installed, for now though, that's just the way it is.

it takes a few hours to heat shrink the hood decals on, then we put the cars outside to heat cycle them, bring them back in let sit over night go over again getting the bubbles that will arise over that time..so not total 16 hours work but long drawn out process to do correctly...and the hood stripes are VERY hard to get right...Rob

I just saw my son's ABM SS with white stripes. I looked long and hard for ANY flaws and could bot find ANYTHING to nit pick about.

While we were initially upset with the extended delay for his car,it now appears well worth the wait.

Photo's soon.

As far as the factory stipes.... I know that my car was shipped to the stripers on the 23rd...and back to the plant on the 25th and the 24th was a Sunday.
Seems to have moved pretty quickly.

If there is anyway you can buy an additional copy of the stripes you get and store them do that. I have a 30 anniversary camaro with a scratch on one stripe but there are no factory stripes left anywhere. The color is slightly redder then anything made so I only have one option, a very expensive paint job.

Vinyl stripes look great (when applied properly)...however, it's a bit hard to maintain them...especially if your vehicle sits in the daily elements (be sure to keep that in mind)...after a few years of a hot sun, etc., they will start to age and will require replacement (and that's when the fun starts)...
