just to clarify. h13 and 9008 are the same thing. So when looking at kits, dont get confused.

The Camaro halogen uses an H13. You can probably find kits on ebay, but like everyone said, they might cause issues. It will put a lot of light out though! Just maybe not where you want it.

envoys didnt come out until 98, and according to sylvania, used 9006, same as the 09 envoy. I think your thinking of the Oldsmobile Suv.

May have been late 90's. They had them though.

I'm 90% sure that the Envoy came factory stock with HID's in 1998 and 1999, because my parents own a 1999 Envoy. In 2000, when the more recent body style came out, the dumped the HID for normal Halogen lights. I'll search to be sure, and post pics later if need be...

EDIT: I am sorry Rollin Thunder, you were completely correct. The headlights on the Envoy are halogens. I even checked the owners manual and took a picture of the headlight and page in the manual. The sure as hell don't seem like Halogens though. Again, Rollin Thunder, I'm sorry

Now back to your regularly scheduled thread. Sorry for the thread-jacking.

Yes, it is the H13 bulb. Now, anyone on here have any expearence of anyone using the Philips X-Treme Power headlight bulbs? It is supposed to be the brightest halogen available.

Also Just to clarify. HIDS run cooler than halogen, But the glare and beam padder are crap when added to stock halogen housings.
Yes. I completely agree. It must have been a long day.

Plus at least in Alaska they are illegal.
I disagree! I have HID's in a standard housing in my Blazer and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. I simply aimed the light down a tad to help keep the light down some for the other drivers and it might be just a tad brighter to the other driver then standard HID's in projector housings, but I couldn't tell it when a buddy and I compared his Lexus with my blazer. Sure I get flashed from time to time (and so does he), but they stop when all four HID's flash on when I hit my brights.

Besides, I hate the way projectors cut off the light.

HID kits to replace the factory halogens are available. Here are a few recent pictures:
