Don't do it. HID are not meant for regular halogen housing. The beam will produce lots of glare for the other drivers. Leave HIDs for HID housings. There are however two types of HIDs. Reflector based and Projector based. Projectors are like the type on the RS. Reflector versions are like the ones in the Envoy. Even those housings were designed for HID use.
Plus at least in Alaska they are illegal.

Yeah I hear ya, fortunately it's not for me and I'm just posting asking for a friend of a friend. I guess more importantly - what bulbs are used in the halogen headlights?

no It could not be 9005 for 9006 cause those are single beam. Im sure its 9008 like in my yukon which is duel beam.
Also Just to clarify. HIDS run cooler than halogen, But the glare and beam padder are crap when added to stock halogen housings. |

![]() 9006 is what my trailblazer and 4th gen use but as stated it's a single beam. Anyone know what bulbs the new Camaro uses? And yes, I mean bulb #. ![]() Trust me guys - I am totally against the idea but regardless I'm still just trying to help a friend of a friend. Anyone know? |

I'm 99% sure HID uses less wattage and runs cooler than Halogen, my halogen headlights used to melt the ice off my headlamp in the winter, now with HID conv kit it barely makes a hole in the ice on the headlamp.
here is a site I found in forums before and bookmarked. http://www.bfxenon.com/Camaro_Xenon_...t_kit_s/48.htm |

Envoy's had HID as an option in the mid-90's. It was GM Truck's first HID lamp.
The Camaro halogen uses an H13. You can probably find kits on ebay, but like everyone said, they might cause issues. It will put a lot of light out though! Just maybe not where you want it. -Geoff

Thanks guys. I'll forward the information along and reiterate that HIDs in a halogen housing cause problems.
